T-minus three days and "counting ..."
"Countdown" to UFC 166 lit up the airwaves last night (Weds., Oct. 16, 2013) on FOX Sports 1 to help promote the upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) event scheduled for this Saturday night (Oct. 19, 2013) at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
And, like a hippie who doesn't smoke dope, it's a mixed martial arts (MMA) Heavyweight trilogy!
That's right, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez will attempt to prove that his five-round shellacking of Junior dos Santos 10 months ago at UFC 155 was the exception rather than the rule, while "Cigano" is confident that his first round knockout of "Brown Pride" back in Nov. 2011 was a trend rather than a fad.
Hadouken!
In the co-main event of the evening, Daniel Cormier will attempt to keep his perfect (12-0) professional record intact before he departs for Light Heavyweight duty (full details here), taking on the seemingly motivated -- and still grotesquely bearded -- "Little Country" Roy Nelson. And, of course, everyone is looking forward to Diego Sanchez mixing it up with former Strikeforce Lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez.
Yes!
Check out the "Countdown" replay to the Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos 3 main event above and the other two aforementioned marquee matches below.
