No surprises here.
The Brazilian Athletic Commission (CABMMA) today issued its list of medical suspensions for those fighters competing at the UFC Fight Night 29: "Maia vs. Shields" event, which took place last Wednesday night (Oct. 9, 2013) at Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Mike Pierce, why don't you have a seat over there.
The rugged American wrestler was benched for six months following a submission loss to Rousimar Palhares, who sent a message to his welterweight opponent on the FOX Sports 1 main card.
And that message was, "Watch me get fired."
Also getting a mandatory vacation was Brazilian wunderkind Erick Silva, who went to Neverland in his co-main event shoot-out opposite Dong Hyun Kim. While it was "Stun Gun" who did the starching, the Korean grappler will also take a short break for precautionary reasons.
