Ain't that some Swedenblad luck.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight Magnus Cedenblad has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming fight against Alessio Sakara. Cedenblad, who was on a quick turnaround after submitting Jared Hamman at UFC 164 back in August, has been forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.
Instead, it will be Cedenblad's teammate, Nicholas Musoke, who will replace him on the Manchester, England, card on October 26th, 2013.
This change in opponent could spell some serious issues for the Italian. While Cedenblad's record is not devoid of knockouts, he's known more for his ground game. Musoke, on the other hand, is a fairly well-rounded fighter who has shown some powerful fists at times.
Witness:
It's still probably a better match-up for him than his original opponent, the heavy-handed Brit, Tom Watson.
Sakara is on a three-fight losing streak and hasn't had a bout since last November, when he was disqualified for repeatedly striking Patrick Cote in the back of the head at UFC 154. Musoke is 10-2 overall and 5-0 with 1 No Contest in his last six dating back to 2011.
UFC Fight Night 30, which will air on FOX Sports 2 network on the day of the international mixed marital arts (MMA) event, will feature a middleweight main event between Lyoto Machida vs. Mark Munoz, going toe-to-toe with a potential 185-pound title shot on the line for the winner.
That's not all.
Melvin Guillard and Ross Pearson will hook 'em up in the co-featured fight of the night to inch closer to lightweight legitimacy, while Jimi Manuwa will look to keep his perfect professional record (13-0) intact against the hard-hitting Ryan Jimmo.
