UFC Quick Quote: Chael Sonnen 'surprised' by 'controversial' scoring in Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson UFC on FOX 6 main event

UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson successfully defended his 125-pound crown against John Dodson at UFC on FOX 6. Johnson's win was impressive, but it didn't come without controversy, at least according to UFC light heavyweight No. 1 contender and "UFC Tonight" panelist, Chael Sonnen.

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

"It was incredible and not without controversy. Our champion in the Flyweight division remains Demetrious Johnson; however, there was a shot to the face by a knee. It was so illegal the referee stopped it. It was so illegal the referee started the injury time clock, brought in the commission, but did not take a point away. Don't tell me you weren't surprised when that decision came in -- Dodson dropped him twice and still didn't win on a single judges' scorecard. That doesn't surprise you?"

-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight No. 1 contender and FUEL TV analyst Chael Sonnen called Demetrious Johnson's decision victory over John Dodson controversial on the UFC on FOX 6: "Johnson vs. Dodson" post-fight show on FUEL TV. "Mighty Mouse" won the flyweight championship fight on all three judge's scorecards, but in the third round Johnson hit Dodson with an illegal knee, but was not deducted a point, which in Sonnen's opinion, was one of the reasons "The Magician" did not win the fight. Sonnen indirectly criticizes the officials from the Illinois Boxing Commission (IBC) for not doing their job to the best of their ability, and essentially called hijinks on the decision.
