Strikeforce payouts and salaries: Josh Barnett banks $250,000 at 'Marquardt vs. Saffiedine'

The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission has released its list of salaries and payouts for those fighters competing at last weekend's Strikeforce event in Oklahoma City. Josh Barnett, Daniel Cormier, Gegard Mousasi and Ronaldo Souza all made bank.

Say what you want about Josh Barnett, the man knows how to make money.

"The Warmaster" was the top earner at last Saturday night's (Jan. 12, 2013) Strikeforce: "Marquardt vs. Saffiedine" event from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, taking home an event-high $250,000 for his first round submission over Austrian lamb Nandor Guelmino.

That's more than Cain Velasquez made for winning the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 155 last month in Las Vegas.

Streaking light heavyweight contender Gegard Mousasi also bagged boku bucks, pulling in $175,000 for beating the brakes off the now-retired Mike Kyle. Other fighters making triple digits were Daniel Cormier ($120,000) and Ronaldo Souza ($105,000).
