FIGHT!
After failing to impress in his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut back at UFC 149 this past July 21 in Calgary, laying an egg and coming up short on the judges' scorecards against Tim Boetsch, Hector Lombard will get another chance at justifying the hype surrounding him during his time spent in Bellator.
The Judoka will take on Brazilian grappling wizard Rousimar Palhares in his next outing inside the Octagon at UFC on FX 6, which is set to go down on Dec. 14, 2012 in Australia.
UFC President Dana White broke the news via his official Twitter account:
"FX 6 Australia Friday Dec 14 Middleweight Bout Rousimar Palhares VS Hector Lombard."
This one should be good.
Palhares was last seen getting grounded-and-pounded by Alan Belcher this past May 5 at UFC on Fox 3: "Diaz vs. Miller." Prior to that, "Toquinho" was riding a three fight win streak, inching closer to the top of the 185-pound division before running into "The Talent."Two of the most under-sized contenders in the division, the stocky middleweights both look to get back on the winning track and avoid dropping consecutive fights with the promotion. A win for either man could go a long way in helping them hang on to their spot on the company's roster. A loss, on the other hand, could be disastrous.
How about it Maniacs, who are you taking in this pivotal clash and what are your early predictions?
Can Lombard get back to his head-hunting ways? Or will Palhares latch on to one of his strong limbs and make him squeal?
Opinions, please.
