Here we go again.

Just when the final quarter of 2012 was beginning to look really strong with a loaded schedule of high profile fights, the wheels are starting to come off already.

That's because former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson is injured and out of his UFC 153 bout against Glover Texieira, which was scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

UFC President Dana White broke the news via Twitter with a simple yet tellingly frustrated tweet:

MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani has confirmed that it was an injury to Jackson's elbow which forced him out of the bout. No word yet on the extent of the injury or how long "Rampage" will be out.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

This isn't the first big fight to drop off the originally impressive UFC 153 card in Brazil. The middleweight bout between Alan Belcher and Vitor Belfort was scrapped when Belfort accepted a fight against Jon Jones for the UFC 152 main event at light heavyweight and Belcher eventually revealed he was injured anyways.

UFC 153 will go on as planned and still features several high profile bouts like UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo versus former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar in the main event, Jon Fitch vs. Erick Silva, Wagner Prado vs. Phil Davis and Demian Maia vs. Rick Story.

Is there anyone out there you feel will accept about against a top prospect like Glover Texeira with barely one month to prepare? We already know Shogun would rather be cut than fight him. How will the UFC salvage this main card?
