Nick Newell, famous for fighting with only one arm, has faced criticism his entire mixed martial arts (MMA) career thanks to his handicap. "How can he strike if he only has one arm?" they ask.
Allow me to introduce Exhibit A into evidence.
Exhibit A is the above video from last night's (Fri., Aug. 3, 2012) XFC 19 event from the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. In it, Newell absolutely destroys his opponent, David Mays, with a series of strikes that ends with a monster knee that drops Mays like a sack of potatoes.
"A lot of people said I couldn't strike," Newell said after the fight. "Guess what? Welcome, here's Nick Newell, the striker, for you guys." A title fight could be the next step for "Notorious," who pushed his career record to 8-0 with the victory.
After the jump, check out complete results from XFC 19.
