"He likes to rely a little too much on his athleticism and it's gotten him a long way but I've fought him before. I've seen what he can do. I fought him when he was probably the most dangerous. It's harder to fight somebody for the second time when you kind of have a good idea of what they're gonna do. He doesn't like to get hit. I know that. I fought him once. Boy does he not like to get hit....I want to make a point. Not as much personally to avenge a loss but to make a statement."
-- And he would know. Jake Ellenberger fought Jay Hieron back in the IFL before he made his UFC debut. Back in 2006, "The Thoroughbred" handed Ellenberger his first professional defeat. Despite the loss, Ellenberger, who has some of the heaviest hands in the welterweight division, tells UFC.com that he knows Hieron doesn't like to get hit. Both men are slated to throw down next Saturday night (Sept. 1, 2012) in the co-main event of UFC 151. "The Juggernaut" was in the mix as a potential UFC welterweight title contender earlier this year before getting knocked off by Martin Kampmann at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Live Finale. While he says above that he's not looking for revenge, do you think getting that win back against Hieron would be sweet for Ellenberger? How do you like his odds against Hieron this time around?
