"The Machine" has been rebuilt!
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight title challenger Mark Hominick will return to the Octagon once again in his native Canada. He'll be taking on a fighter in a familiar situation in Pablo Garza at the UFC 154 pay-per-view (PPV) event scheduled for Nov. 17, 2012 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Word of the match-up coming by way of both fighters via their Twitter accounts (although we were first notified by MMAmania reader A.K.).
Hominick (20-11) is coming off a huge upset loss at the hands of UFC neophyte Eddie Yagin at UFC 145 earlier this year. It was the Team Tompkins' third straight loss in the UFC. He first lost to Jose Aldo in an extremely entertaining bout and then found himself on the losing end of one of the fastest knockouts in UFC history at the hands of "The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung.
Can Hominick pick up the pieces?
Pablo Garza (11-3) is one of the most exciting fighters in the featherweight division. "The Scarecrow" had as good of a UFC debut a any fighter in the promotion, claiming both "Knockout of the Night" and "Submission of the Night" in his first two bouts.
Since them, the lanky 145-pounder has lost two straight bouts. The first was to top contender Dustin Poirier and in his last appearance, he was manhandled by The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 runner-up Dennis Bermudez.
Who can end their losing streak?.
UFC 154 will feature a 170-pound showdown between UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre vs. Carlos Condit, the UFC interim Welterweight Champion in the main event of the evening, while the next welterweight title challenger will be decided between Johnny Hendricks vs. Martin Kampmann.
And who could possibly not be looking forward to the heavyweight showdown between Brendan Schaub vs. Lavar Johnson or the middleweight matchup between Tom Lawlor vs. Francis Carmont.
