Strikeforce 135-pound female champion Ronda Rousey was all business today at the pre-fight press conference to promote her upcoming title defense against Sarah Kaufman at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif., on Aug. 18, 2012.
"Rowdy" vowed to tear off limbs and even kill a Canadian if the referee failed to protect her British Columbia counterpart. Kaufman shrugged it off, played along and even heaped praise on Rousey just days before their main event showdown on Showtime.
Kill 'em with kindness, Sarah.
Former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Ronaldo Souza, along with his dance partner in the co-main event, Derek Brunson, were also in attendance to answer questions from the media, but it was crystal clear that this was all about "Rousey vs. Kaufman." Even Strikeforce President Scott Coker was relatively quiet, letting his two girls do all the talking to help market their feminine mixed martial arts (MMA) match up.
Two eggs, one basket ... let's hope we get some memorable action that doesn't include death or dismemberment.
Be there.
