Chael Sonnen has 12 losses in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career ... and Forrest Griffin happens to be one of them.
The former middleweight number one contender first went to battle against the one-time light heavyweight champion nearly 10 years ago under the International Fighting Championship (IFC) banner on September 6, 2003 from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
Any guesses as to how it ends?
Well, I don't think it's a spoiler to note that Sonnen gets submitted by a triangle choke, as it's something the aging wrestler has fallen victim to eight times in his career, including the one at UFC 117 which gave away what seemed like a surefire unanimous decision win over Anderson Silva.
Now's his chance to erase and avenge.
That's because the rematch has already been booked for the UFC 155 pay-per-view (PPV) on Dec. 29, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Will history repeat itself? Or is Sonnen poised to become a contender at 205 pounds?
