The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) today issued its list of medical suspensions for UFC 148: "Silva vs. Sonnen 2," which took place on Sat., July 7, 2012, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Despite several of the bouts ending by way of unanimous decision, there were still quite a few fighters who were flagged for follow up visits to their doctors. Chief among them is Forrest Griffin (if we're going be suspension length from the top of the pay-per-view (PPV) main card on down the line, anyway) who possibly had his jaw cracked by Tito Ortiz in their "Fight of the Night."

If a CT can is positive, then Griffin will be stuck on the shelf until October. Even if it's negative, he still might ride the pine for the same amount of time for his post-fight shenanigans that drew the ire of basically everyone watching, including Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White.

Chael Sonnen was also slapped with a minor suspension because of a laceration to his nose; however, he's only sidelined for a maximum of four weeks, which is more than enough idle time to hatch his (or his coach's) next diabolical scheme to force a third fight with Anderson Silva.

That's not all.

Here is the complete list of UFC 148 injuries and their medical instructions:

Chael Sonnen: No contact until July 29, 2012, because of a nasal laceration. Minimum suspension until Aug. 7, 2012.

Forrest Griffin: Must have a CT scan or panarex of jaw and/or be cleared by a physician to return to action otherwise no contest until Oct. 6, 2012. Minimum suspension until Aug. 22, 2012, and no contact until Aug. 7, 2012.

Cung Le: Must have x-ray of right knee and foot and/or be cleared by a physician to return to action otherwise no contest until Oct. 6, 2012. Minimum suspension until Aug. 7, 2012, and no contact until July 29, 2012, because of a left eye laceration.

Patrick Cote: Minimum suspension until Aug. 7, 2012, and no contact until July 29, 2012, because of a scalp laceration.

Dong Hyun Kim: Minimum suspension until Aug. 22, 2012, and no contact until Aug. 7, 2012.

Cody McKenzie: Minimum suspension until Aug. 22, 2012, and no contact until Aug. 7, 2012.

Ivan Menjivar: Must have x-ray or MRI of left knee and foot and/or be cleared by a physician to return to action otherwise no contest until Oct. 6, 2012.

Fabricio Camoes: Minimum suspension until Aug. 7, 2012, and no contact until July 29, 2012.

Gleison Tibau: Minimum suspension until Aug. 7, 2012, and no contact until July 29, 2012, because of a right eye laceration.

Habib Nurmagomedov: Must have yearly follow up MRA to compare with 2012 MRA (due Jan. 10, 2013).

Constantinos Philippou: Must have left eye cleared by an ophthalmologist to return to action otherwise no contest until Oct. 6, 2012. Minimum suspension until Aug. 7, 2012, and no contact until July 30, 2012.

Rafaello Oliveira: Minimum suspension until Aug. 7, 2012, and no contact until July 29, 2012, because of a scalp laceration.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.
