UFC 148: "Silva vs. Sonnen 2" is less than 36 hours from getting underway this Saturday night (July 7, 2012) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC 148 will feature what Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White has branded that "biggest fight of the year" between Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen in the main event of the evening. And that's probably no exaggeration this time around because this is a straight up blockbuster marquee mixed martial arts (MMA) match up.
The pay-per-view (PPV) event will also feature the conclusion of the unlikely trilogy between Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin, which will also signal the farewell fight for "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy." In other main card action, Cung Le will look to mesmerize Patrick Cote with his fancy Sanshou striking and notch his first-ever win inside the Octagon.
As with any UFC event, the notable cast and crew descended upon the host location beforehand to strut their stuff as part of the media open workout (in the video above), which this time took place inside the Encore Hotel at XS Nightclub. Even Steven Seagal and former Brazilian soccer star Ronaldo were on the scene to support Anderson Silva.
