Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to pay-per-view this past Saturday night (July 21, 2012) with UFC 149: "Faber vs. Barao," featuring Renan Barao capturing gold for the first time in his career taking a unanimous decision victory over Urijah Faber.
And now Dominick Cruz awaits.
Hector Lombard disappointed greatly in his Octagon debut, falling by way of split decision to Tim Boetsch. He can recover from this defeat, sure, but that title shot against Anderson Silva has gone up in smoke.
Other "action" on the card saw Cheick Kongo defeat Shawn Jordan, James Head squeak past Brian Ebersole, and Matt Riddle submit Chris Clements.
In cased you missed any or all of it -- or just want to keep the discussion alive -- below are links to all the major storylines borne from Saturday night's event in Calgary.
