UFC 149: "Faber vs. Barao" took place last night (Sat., July 21, 2012) from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, featuring Renan Barao claiming the vacant interim bantamweight championship by outclassing Urijah Faber over five rounds.

Hector Lombard disappointed in his Octagon debut, falling by way of decision to Tim Boetsch in the co-main event of the evening. He was sluggish, flat footed and seemed generally disinterested.

Not the best first impression.

Other action on the card saw Cheick Kongo hold down Shawn Jordan, James Head eek past Brian Ebersole, and Matt Riddle submit Chris Clements.
