Renan Barao outclasses Urijah Faber over five rounds and 25 minutes to claim the interim bantamweight championship in the main event of UFC 149 last night (Sat., July 21, 2012) at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Simply put, the Brazilian was the better fighter. He was consistently quicker to the punch, he landed far more significant strikes throughout the duration of the bout and ultimately proved he was most definitely ready for the big time. Up next? Either a title unification bout against Dominick Cruz or a title defense against a top 135-pound fighter. Either way, Barao was impressive.
