In the main event of last night's (Fri., July 20, 2012) Bellator 72 fight card at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida, Karl Amoussou submitted Bryan Baker in under one minute to win the season six welterweight tournament.
That's good for $100,000 and a guaranteed shot at Ben Askren.
The fight was over before you could blink an eye. Thankfully, our very own "Bellator Brian" Hemminger was on the ball. Here's his blow-by-blow:
Round one: Baker lands a nice kick which knocks Amoussou off balance and Amoussou pops right back to his feet and fires off a nasty combination. Baker throws a punch and it looks like it poked Amoussou in the eye. He only takes a few seconds and they're right back at it. Big side kick from Baker and Amoussou shoots in and rolls for a heel hook. Baker is caught completely by surprise and Baker is forced to make the quick tap. That was a nasty and extremely quick inverted heel hook. Wow!
After the jump, check out the video of the slick submission and Amoussou getting emotional after his victory.
