For fans of mixed martial arts, this past week has been a slow crawl of steadily rising anticipation for tonight's "Faber vs. Barao" event, going down at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
UFC 149 will feature an interim bantamweight championship showdown pitting former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) kingpin Urijah Faber against the man with the longest active winning streak in MMA today, Renan Barao.
In other action on the card, Hector Lombard makes his long awaited UFC debut against Tim Boetsch in a middleweight mash up with serious implications on the 185-pound title picture.
