After Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva defeated Chael Sonnen for a second time on July 7, 2012 at UFC 148 in Las Vegas, Nevada, "The Spider" caught everyone by surprise with his post-fight remarks.
No ifs, ands or butts.
They weren't as harsh as his pre-fight remarks -- on the contrary -- he made nice with "The American Gangster" and even invited him over for a barbeque if he ever happens to be in Brazil. Though a very noble gesture on the part of Anderson, mixed martial arts (MMA) fans were caught off guard with the offer.
Especially given the fact that Sonnen had previously taken jabs at Silva's wife, Dayane.
Apparently Mrs. Silva doesn't have a problem with Chael coming over for some good old Brazilian BBQ, though she didn't appreciate bringing her into the trash talk, she is okay with hosting Sonnen, as long as he keeps his hands to himself.
At least that's what she told SPORTV (via Bleacher Report) after the jump.
"I loved Anderson's answers after the fight. Come on, Chael. You can come to the barbeque. You just can't touch my butt. For me, it was Anderson's best victory. Chael shouldn't have talked about me. It was the worst thing he did."
The humbleness and forgiveness runs all through the Silva family, apparently.
It's safe to say the long and bitter feud between Sonnen and Silva is now history. And with no third fight in the foreseeable future between the two 185-pounders, given the fact that Silva has swept the series, it will apparently stay that way.
By the way, Chael takes his steak medium-rare.
