Talk about timing. Let's see if we can keep this thing in order.
Thiago Silva's back flairs up and he's forced to bow out of his fight against Mauricio Rua, which was scheduled for UFC 149 on July 21, 2012, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. After some flirting with Glover Teixeira, no decision is made on his status.
Then Brian Stann hurts his shoulder, bouncing him out of his UFC on FOX 4 main event bout against Hector Lombard on Aug. 4, 2012, in Los Angeles, California. Instead of promoting the Lyoto Machida vs. Ryan Bader undercard bout to the main event, the powers that be get creative and yank Rua off the UFC 149 fight card and match him up against Brandon Vera to headline in the "City of Angles."
But what about Lombard? Unbelievably enough, Michael Bisping suffered an undisclosed injury and also bowed out of his scheduled showdown against Tim Boetsch, which was also set for UFC 149. So "Shango," who called Bisping out on Twitter earlier this evening, was moved up to the "Great White North" to battle "The Barbarian," according to UFC.com.
Got all that?
