Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back with another edition of Friday night fights, this time invading the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida, for its UFC on FX 3: "Johnson vs. McCall" network television event, TONIGHT, Fri., June 8, 2012.
It will air LIVE on FX, beginning with the televised main card at 9 p.m. ET. "Prelims" action will also begin to stream live on Facebook at around 5 p.m. ET, which will then run right into the FUEL TV portion of the undercard at 6 p.m. ET.
UFC on FX 3 will feature the conclusion of the semifinals from first-ever UFC flyweight tournament, which pits Demetrious Johnson vs. Ian McCall in their second straight 125-pound encounter following last March's controversial draw.
In addition, welterweight top prospect Erick Silva tries to continue his rise through the 170-pound ranks against Charlie Brenneman while Josh Neer looks to give some dental work to Mike Pyle.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire card TONIGHT (Fri., June 8, 2012), starting with the Facebook Prelims, which are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. ET, as well as the FUEL TV Prelims at 6 p.m. ET, and the main card, which is slated to air at 9 p.m. ET on the FX Channel.

Demetrious Johnson vs. Ian McCall (125-pound limit)
Round one: McCall whiffs with a leg kick to get thing started and he's taken the cage center as Johnson circles on the outside. Head kick from Johnson is blocked and McCall ducks a hook, looking for a clinch but Johnson reverses him and takes inside position along the fence. Johnson changes levels and scores a takedown but McCall throws hammerfists to Johnson's back and pops back to his feet. Right hand from Johnson on the exit and they reset. Johnson darts in and eats a right hand from McCall and he's chasing Johnson around the cage. Nice right hand from Johnson drops McCall and he follows him to the ground. Johnson is in McCall's full guard but McCall pops to his feet. Johnson has a back body lock but McCall spins into him but he's still being pressed against the cage. Clinch takedown attempt fails for Johnson and they're back to standing. McCall presses Johnson into the fence and throws a knee but Johnson slips free. Nice left hand from Johnson and he shoots for a takedown but McCall rolls through and pops up. Johnson grabs a Thai clinch and McCall throws a combination of body punches to back him off as time expires. 10-9 Johnson
Round two: McCall shoots in quickly and scores a takedown but he can't keep Johnson down as Mighty Mouse scrambles to his feet. McCall is in full on stalk mode and body men trade big shots with McCall getting the better of it. Leg kick from McCall and he closes the distance with a knee but Johnson takes inside position against the fence. McCall fires off a knee on the exit and they reset. Excellent leg kick from Johnson and McCall tries to respond but he lands to the groin. After a brief recovery period, they're back at it and McCall shoots in driving Johnson to the ground but again Johnson bounces back to his feet. McCall is working hard for a takedown and he's got a grip on Johnson from behind standing and he slams Johnson to the ground but Johnson again bounces to his feet. Johnson presses forward, throwing a nice combination of strikes and backing McCall into the fence. Johnson fires off some short knees to the legs and body and McCall reverses position and connects with a spinning elbow. They reset again and Johnson isn't quite as fast as round one. Johnson grabs a clinch, throws a knee and backs off. Right hand for Johnson connects and McCall throws a head kick which is partially blocked. McCall score a throw right at the end of the round. 10-9 McCall
Round three: Johnson presses McCall into the fence and lands a nice left hand. McCall presses forward and can't secure a takedown but he's got Johnson pressed into the fence as he lands nice short knees and elbows. Now Johnson presses McCall into the fence and he changes levels, securing a takedown. He's not doing anything with it though and McCall gets back to his feet while Johnson has a reverse body lock. Johnson throws a nice right hand on the break. McCall is stalking again and Johnson connects with a combination but can't score a takedown, eating a knee on the way out from McCall. Johnson catches a leg kick and fires off a pair of right hooks and McCall backs him into the fence, throwing a knee. They trade knees against the fence and McCall looks for a single-leg but can't get it. Solid right hand from Johnson and McCall misses with a throw attempt. Johnson dives in with a 1-2 which connects and McCall pushes him into the fence. They again trade knees and after separating, Johnson fires off a nice right hand, finishing a combination with a push kick. McCall fails with a takedown attempt and Johnson cracks him with a right hand. 30 seconds left and Johnson drops down for a takedown, pressing McCall into the fence. Johnson almost takes McCall down but McCall does a reverse somersault and pops to his feet. Good finish for Johnson there. 10-9 Johnson

Charlie Brenneman vs. Erick Silva (170-pound limit)
Round one: Brenneman comes out aggressively but Silva cracks him with a knee which forces him to back off. Spinning back kick from Silva gets dodges and Brenneman briefly scores a takedown. Now Brenneman has Sivla in the clinch and he grabs a reverse body lock. Brenneman pulls Silva to the ground adn Silva attacks with a foot lock but Brenneman closes the distance again with a takedown attempt and he's got Silva pressed against the fence hunting for a double leg. The ref separates them and Brenneman presses forwards with a right hand and scores another takedown but Silva wall-walks back to his feet against the fence. Silva connects witha big spinning back kick and Brenneman fires back with a few punches. Silva lands a right hand and Brenneman dives in for a takedown but Silva stuffs it and takes Brenneman's back. Silva puts in one hook then another and he latches on a rear naked choke. He squeezes it and Brenneman taps! Nice performance by Silva there, battling through adversity!

Josh Neer vs. Mike Pyle (170-pound limit)
Round one: Neer is stalking early with both hands up and looking to land his big looping right hand. Pyle responds with a right of his own and he's circling on the outside. Pyle throws a short right then dives in and takes Neer down with authority. Pyle passes to side control and looks to mount but Neer retains butterfly guard. Neer attempts a heel hook but Pyle stands up and easily slips free, diving back into Neer's closed guard. Neer brings his legs up with a triangle attempt but Pyle backs off and Neer pops to his feet with a takedown attempt. They're back to standing and Pyle loses his balance, which Neer takes advantage of, throwing big punches in the clinch. Pyle responds with a knee and Neer comes inside again, blasting Pyle with big body strikes. Neer is getting aggressive and Pyle fires off a HUGE right hook which catches Neer on the button and knocks him completely out cold! Neer faceplants. WOW!

Scott Jorgensen vs. Eddie Wineland (145-pound limit)
Round one: Jorgensen fires off a leg kick and both men are posturing in the cage center. Jorgensen feints a shot but Wineland lands a right hand. Jorgensen connects with a short right and grabs a body lock but can't do anything with it. WIneland connects with a solid right hand and Jorgensen responds with a big 1-2 combination. Right hand from Wineland turns Jorgensen's head and then he lands a nice stiff jab which drops Jorgensen. Jorgensen pops back to his feet but he's still hurt and he grabs a body lock trying to clear the cobwebs but Wineland score a trip takedown. Jorgensen gets to his feet again and eats a right hand from Wineland again. Jorgensen is trying to work his straight left but he's coming up short. Big combination connects for Wineland and then another huge right hand staggers Jorgensen before the horn. 10-9 Wineland
Round two: Jorgensen shoots in and scores a takedown but Wineland pops right back to his feet. Both men trade on the inside and Jorgensen gets the better of it, opening up a cut on Wineland's left brow. Wineland again pops Jorgensen with his right hand and the crowd is loving this fight. Jorgensen shoots in for a takedown but Wineland hits the switch and they pop back to their feet. Both men are tattooing each other here, going for broke. Nice short right from Jorgensen and he lunges in trying to close the distance and whiffs. A mouthpiece goes flying and the ref puts it back in for WIneland. Huge right hand connects from Wineland and Jorgensen goes down! Jorgensen is out! Wow!

Mike Pierce vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha (170-pound limit)
Round one: Rocha with the leg kick answered by a big right by Pierce. Rocha gets tied up by Pierce, looking for the underhooks. Rocha working the knees. Pierce bullies him over to the fence and is leaning on him. Rocha continues to work the knees to the body. The fighters remained tangled up against the fence. Pierce working dirty boxing and trying to dirty it up. Rocha pulls guard. Pierce on top, but Rocha has hold of his wrist, trying for a submission. Pierce thinks better of staying in that spot and gets back to his feet, letting Rocha back up. Two minutes left. Jump front kick by Rocha. Pierce charges in, ducks down and tries for a double leg takedown, but is unable to finish. Pierce settles for a tie up on the fence. Knees from Pierce, who keeps grinding this one out, trying to wear him down. Less than a minute to go. Pierce gets the double leg and is able to secure it this time, blasting Rocha to the mat. Again, Pierce lets him back up. So far, it seems like Pierce is content to use takedowns for points. 10-9 Pierce.
Round two: Pierce charges forward with a combo then drops down for a takedown attempt. Rocha controls his neck to defend. Pierce is out and working over/unders. Pierce has Rocha pinned against the fence, but Rocha is able to spin out. Good leg kick by Rocha. Pierce catches a kick and uses it to drive Rocha back onto the fence. More dirty boxing from Pierce. Pierce drops down, uses knees to the inner thigh, then gets the takedown. Elbow by Pierce. Rocha goes for a calf slicer submission, but Pierce is able to get out of it and back to his feet. Pierce dives back into the guard, which may wind up being a bad choice. Pierce landing shots from the top. Rocha very active off his back looking for submissions. Two minutes left. Pierce with a couple of good punches to the ribcage. Good elbows by Pierce. Even though Pierce is landing a good deal of strikes from the top, Rocha is landing his fair share of hammerfists and elbows off his back. Still, Pierce has been in control. Rocha is able to get on one knee and then back to his feet, hunched over. Pierce has a bodylock and his back. Rocha reverses but then ends up with his back on the fence again. The round ends with Pierce leaning and wearing on his frustrated opponent. 10-9 Pierce.
Round three: Inside leg kick by Pierce. Rocha responds with a combo, but Pierce walks right through it and pins him to the fence. Good uppercut by Pierce inside the clinch. Pierce pushes off and they're back to center. Leg kick by Rocha. Pierce charges in aggressively throwing punches, then drops down and gets a hold of Rocha again. Good elbow by Pierce. Another good elbow from Pierce then an uppercut. Another elbow by Pierce. Quick, short strikes by Pierce. Referee breaks them up and they're back to the middle of the cage. Pierce charges forward and gets the single leg takedown. Rocha working hammerfists off his back. Pierce goes to the body with his ground and pound. Two minutes to go. Pierce continues to land punches and elbows to the body. Rocha lands a couple very nice hammerfists from his back. Pierce keeps applying the pressure from the top. None of the strikes Pierce is throwing are coming close to getting a finish they're keeping him down and allowing the fight to stay in this position. The round ends with Pierce throwing some serious bombs from the top. 10-9 Pierce.

Seth Baczynski vs. Lance Benoist (170-pound limit)
Round one: Big head kick attempt by Benoist. Baczynski ducks underneath it and almost gets the takedown. Good balance by Benoist. Front kick to the head by Benoist is blocked. Hard kick to the body by Benoist. Benoist rushes in and ties him up. Benoist gets the takedown and is inside Baczynski's full guard. Elbows from the bottom by Baczynski. Benoist working the hammerfists. Three minutes left. Baczynski was using the fence to get back to his feet, but still had a knee down as Benoist kneed him in the head. Illegal shot. Baczynski will get time to recover and Benoist may lose a point. He gets off easy with a warning. Back to the action. Baczynski with a good combo. Benoist ties him up then jumps to try and take his back fro ma standing position. Very unorthodox. Baczynski eventually able to shake him off. Back to center. Leg kick by Benoist. Good left hook by Benoist. Front kick to the body by Benoist. Benoist misses on a takedown attempt and gets reversed. Baczynski on top. Baczynski trying to pass and get to side control. Good couple of strikes by Baczynski from the top, then a decent upkick from Benoist. 10-9 Benoist.
Round two: Head kick by Benoist. Baczynski rushes in, ducks down and eats a knee while he has one knee down. Looks like Benoist is going to lose a point. Apparently not, as refeee Chris Adams merely warns him again. Body kick by Benoist. Head kick by Baczynski. Baczynski rushes in and catches a kick, tries for a takedown but is reverses and ends up on his back. Good upkick by Baczynski. Benoist walks through it and dives back into the guard. Benoist backs out and kicks Baczynski in the legs. Benoist tries to dive back into the guard as Baczynski looks for a submission attempt from the bottom but Benoist avoids trouble. Just under two minutes left. Benoist working the ground and pound. Baczynski uses the fence to get back to his feet. Back to center. Baczynski with a big flying knee that connected aprtially. Baczynski finishes with a takedown and is on top. Benoist goes for a kimura from the bottom. He gives it up. Baczynski ends the round with a couple of punches from the top. 10-9 Benoist.
Round three: Baczynski charges in and eats a knee to the midsection followed by a left hook t the head. Baczynski grabs hold of the back of the neck and implements the muay thai clinch. Baczynski working the knees. Benoist gets under it and takes him down but Baczynski is right back up. Baczynski uses the muay thai clinch again and lands another knee but Benoist, like before, uses the body clinch to take him back down. Benoist is bleeding badly from one of the knees inside the clinch, but he's on top and in control. Baczynski looks to wall walk, and he does. The action is back up against the fence as the fighters exchange elbows. Benoist reverses Baczynski and gets the takedown. Very nice elbow by Benoist. Baczynski lands a couple of elbows of his own from his back. More elbows from Benoist. Referee is close to standing them back up. Head kick and a left hook by Benoist. Baczynski throws Benoist to the mat and then eats an upkick. Baczynski is on top now using his ground and pound. Benoist is really bleeding, having been visibly cut very badly in a couple of places. 10-9 Baczynski.

Leonard Garcia vs. Matt Grice (145-pound limit)
Round one: Grice throws a leg kick and misses. Garcia throws a jab to find the distance, doesn't connect. Garcia with a 1-1-2 combo that lands. Good leg kick by Grice. Big overhand right by Garcia misses. Grice switches levels for the takedown and gets it. Grice on top. Full guard for Garcia. Grice working some ground and pound. Grice trying to pass to mount. Grice with a good right hand from the top. Grice inside the half guard and working a lot of quick, short strikes. Two minutes left. Good elbows by Grice. Grice passes to sidemount. Grice to north south and is looking to sink in the choke. Garcia escapes, gives up his back, scrambles and is back in full guard. Huge elbow by Grice. Garcia throws up an armbar attempt but Grice defends and is out. Grice still on top. Thirty-seven seconds left. Grice continues to land lots of elbows. All Matt Grice in round one. 10-9 Grice.
Round two: Garcia throws a head kick which is blocked. Grice charges forward with a combo, then drops for a single leg but can't finish the takedown. Back to center. Garcia throws a combo, Grice ducks under for a double leg takedown and is back on top. Ground and pound by Grice. Lots of hammerfists and elbows. Grice inside the half guard, trying to get his one trapped leg free as he continues to nail Garcia with short strikes. Just over two minutes left. Big shot by Grice. And another. Garcia is taking a lot of punishment. Grice almost looks content to allow his one leg to remain trapped, as he's been able to score a ton from this half guard position. Over and over, Grice keep pushing Garcia's head down with one elbow, then following up with several undefended strikes. Garcia completely unable to do anything, least of all escape. 10-8 Grice.
Round three: Front kick to the body by Grice. Garcia with the wild high kick. Garcia comes forward with a combo but not really able to land. Grice drops down for a takedown, unable to secure it, backs out and lands a kick to the body. Grice is completely dictating the pace of this fight and everywhere it goes. Garcia comes forward with a big combo. Grice ties him up and lands a big combo of his own on the way out. Back to center. Garcia is laying it all on the line now, clearly knowing he's way behind. Grice throws a huge overhand left hook, but Grice ducks under for a doule leg power takedown and is back on top. Based on the way the rest of this fight has gone, it's likely to end this way. Big shots by Grice. Big elbow by Grice. Garcia is able to back out during the scrum and sneak out the back. Back on the feet. Grice hits a single leg takedown and is straight to sidemount. Ten seconds left. The round ends with Grice on top, smothering Garcia with elbows. 10-9 Grice.

Dustin Pague vs. Jared Papazian (135-pound limit)
Round one: Papazian comes forward and lands a good jab. Pague with the good leg kick. Good right hook by Papzian. Pague clinches up and lands a good knee. Pagues uses the clinch to get the takedown and goes straight to full mount. Bad spot for Papazian. Pague with a huge elbow. And another. Papazian trying to escape but Pague with heavy hips. Papazian rolls and just about gives up his back. Pague is on his back now. Pague has the hooks in. There's a lot of time left for Pague to try and secure the submission. Pague has the bodylock and is working for the choke. Papazian using wrist control to try and avoid being finished. Finally, Pague is able to sink it in and it's over. Papazian taps. Tim Means vs. Justin Salas (155-pound limit)
Round one: Salas throws a big overhand right and shoots but Means avoids it. Means hits Salas with a big left hook that lands square on the temple. Salas looks hurt! Salas is having trouble recovering. He is wobbly and continues to take damage. Means is teeing off with some big knees! Salas goes down. Means is all over him with punches. Salas able to get back up but he still looks rocked. Salas shoots, Means gets out of the way, pounces on him and finishes him with strikes. It's all over!

Caio Magalhaes vs. Buddy Roberts (185-pound limit)
Round one: Roberts comes forward quickly with a huge overhand right. Magalhaes ties up. Roberts is able to free himself from the clinch and land another big right hand on the exit. Back to center. Roberts coming forward with again with another combo that ends on that big looping right. Roberts in again, lands a good straight right to the head. Magalhaes throws a high kick that is blocked. Magalhaes shoots for a power takedown but is met by a sprawl. Roberts defends up against the fence. Magalhaes is able to get Roberts down for a moment but Roberts is back up quickly. Magalhaes ties him up against the fence. Roberts defends and counters with a trip, ending up on his back for a few seconds, raining elbows down, but he's back to his feet now. Good leg kick by Roberts. Magalhaes throws a big head kick that misses as Roberts retreats. Roberts with a jump front kick that narrowly misses and he eats a left hand for his efforts. One minute left. Good straight right hand by Roberts. Good combo by Roberts. Another big overhand right by Roberts. Inside leg kick by Magalhaes. Head kick by Magalhaes is blocked at the horn. 10-9 Roberts.
Round two: Magalhaes comes out with a big kick that misses. Big overhand right again by Roberts. Front kick by Roberts. Roberts comes forward and fakes a flying knee. Magalhaes with a decent combo, really the first of the bout thus far. Magalhaes looks for the single leg takedown up against the fence. Roberts defends well. Magalhaes continues to try and switch levels to catch Roberts off guard but to no avail. Roberts with good wrist control. Magalhaes comes close to finishing the takedown but Roberts bounces off the fence and regains his balance. Just over two minutes to go. Tricky spinning back kick by Magalhaes. Leg kick by Roberts. Roberts comes forward with a combo and ends on another one of his many overhand rights. Don't be surprised if one of those ends up putting Magahaes to sleep. Magalhaes throws a leg kick but gets nailed with a straight right hand in the face. Roberts rushes in with another looping right. It's been all Buddy Roberts in this fight to this point. Twenty seconds left. Good combo by Roberts. Roberts with the flying knee and then a big right looping punch to the temple. 10-9 Roberts.
Round three: Roberts starts where he left off as the aggressor, trowing a several punch combo that backs up his opponent. Magalhaes tries for a big leg kick but Roberts is able to avoid it. Good inside leg kick that time by Magalhaes. The story of the fight so far has really been Roberts and his movement. Magalhaes just has not been able to find him or the distance. Good jab by Roberts. Good front kick to the body by Roberts. Good combo by Roberts. Magalhaes shoots, changes levels and finally is able to secure the takedown. Roberts isn't down long though, as he uses the fence, pushes off the head and is back up. Magalhaes is relentless though and takes him down once more, then scoots him away from the fence. Magalhaes goes for a leglock and Roberts is able to escape in the process. Nice uppercut by Roberts. Big overhand right by Roberts. Good jab by Roberts. Good one two combo by Roberts that narrowly misses with a big shot at the end. Another good combo by Roberts. Good left hook by Roberts. Good jab by Magalhaes. Round one: Martinez comes in stalking. Magalhaes shoots but is stuffed. Martinez throws a combo that largely misses. Still finding the distance. Magalhaes charges in and lands a decent couple of punches. Magalhaes charges in again and is picked off this time by Martinez. Martinez responds to a combo with a bigger combo of his own, looking to stun Magalhaes a bit. Fighters exchange evenly with combos. Good combo by Martinez. Magalhaes rushes in again and gets tagged. Good combo again by Martinez. Magalhaes shoots and is met with an excellent sprawl. Martinez on top but Magalhaes rolls for a hell hook. Martinez gets out of trouble by getting back to his feet. Quite a chess match thus far. Good right hand by Magalhaes. Magalhaes charges forward and eats a hard left hand in the face. Martinez with the body kick. Magalhaes shoots but is unsuccessful again. Round one: Hecht charges in for the single leg takedown and he has him down . Hecht working to take his back. He's got one hook in. Pierson in the process of sneaking out the back door and he does. Pierson on top inside the full guard of Hecht. Pierson moves to passes, lands a big hammerfist and takes side control. Pierson in north-south now. Back to side control. Pierson, gets side mount for a second, but in the transition, Hecht is able sneak out. Pierson has his neck, but Hecht gets underhooks and is able to take him down. Pierson wall walks back to his feet. They're tied up against the fence now with two and a half minutes left in the round. Pierson reverses and punishes the ribs with punches. Pierson with knees to the quads and inner thighs. Pierson trips and gets the takedown and he's back on top. Pierson postures up and throws a big right hand to his downed opponent. Round three: Hecht comes out aggressive, feinting a shot then throwing ahead kick that misses. Hecht shoots and gets a single leg takedown. Hecht inside Pierson's full guard. Pierson in butterfly guard now. Referee Chris Adams sees enough inactivity and stands them up. Head kick by Hecht misses badly. Hecht stalking and lands a good uppercut. Hecht comes in and thinks of throwing a flying knee but thinks better of it, last second. Hecht drops down for the single leg. Pierson controls an arm and is able to defend the takedown. Pierson pushes off. Back to center. Pierson charges forward wit ha decent combo. Hecht fakes a takedown and then lands a good head kick. Hecht fakes a shot again and throws a right cross.
