Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just over a week away from one of its most highly-anticipated rematches of all time: The middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen at the UFC 148 pay-per-view (PPV) event, emanating live from the MGM Grand Garden Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 7, 2012.
In addition to the usual pre-fight fanfare, the promotion is adding a colorful twist to the heated rivalry between the event headliners, literally, with its UFC 148 comic strip illustrated by Dave Golding, first appearing on the UFC Facebook page earlier this week.
From the official release:
Silva dons the tights as ‘the Silver Spider' and wears an outfit featuring the colors of his beloved Brazil's national flag. Sonnen, meanwhile, is taken at his word and has been transformed into the ‘American Gangsta', and given a patriotic Old Glory color scheme.

Will life imitate art on July 7?
The usually soft-spoken Silva has already broken out of his shell, blasting the challenger at yesterday's pre-fight press conference, promising to break his bones, his teeth and anything else that keeps him from ever fighting again.
