"For sure, I'm close (to a title shot) now. If the UFC asks, then I'm ready for sure but maybe one more fight, maybe on the Velasquez vs. dos Santos card. After that, if I win, maybe I will fight (the champion) in Brazil. I don't know. I'm just here to fight. I'm just going to rest for one week. Then, I will go back to training again. I'm just going to wait for what the UFC says."

-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight top contender Fabricio Werdum tells FoxSports.com he's ready for his second shot at current king of the 265-pound mountain, Junior dos Santos. This after "Vai Cavalo" pasted Mike Russow at the UFC 147: "Silva vs. Franklin 2" event that took place last night (Sat., June 23, 2012) at the Mineirinho Arena in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The win gave Werdum his second consecutive impressive victory since he came back to the world's largest fight promotion, the first coming by way of unanimous decision over Roy Nelson back at UFC 143 earlier this year. Considering he's ranked number five in the world at present time and options are limited, perhaps he has a legitimate case for a rematch against "Cigano," who wasted him back at UFC 90 in Oct. 2008? Our very own Sergio Hernandez seems to think so. Do you?
