First time in the history of Mania Money Pool, or any other pool for that matter, that we have two (2) fight cards to get our picks on.
UFC on FX-4 resulted in probably the worst game plan in the history of MMA when the Cave Man tried to incorporate Dance Dance Revolution in his fight with the flat-footed, content with punching the air, TUF wrestler. Don't get me wrong, both of these guys lost. Guida for being GJ's puppet in his game plan and Maynard for not having any striking IQ of cutting the Octagon and making it a fight.
UFC 147 showcased not only how talented the Brazilians are, it also set the record for the most nut shots in the history of MMA. Hell, Cheick Kongo is not even in the card!
And in our Money Pool, we have a new Leader as Clint Eastwood toppled the Beer Man at the top. And Deuce02 is still the leader of the Basement Dwellers.
Let's head immediately to the results:

Mania 1 Fight Camp:
- 5 people in our fight camp gave the Caveman a chance against TUF wrestler and flat footed air puncher. Well, turned out these 5 people are also great fans of the Dance Dance Revolution installment.
- Only 2 people picked Chris Camozzi to win. 92% of the camp though Catone will win. Well, Catone was actually winning except referees, nowadays, cannot differentiate when to stop a fight due to a cut and screwing a fighter.
- As expected, 25 people (100%) gave Dan Miller, Jersey's own, to win against Funch. Miller did not disappoint as he choked the air out of Funch in the third round.
- Again, no one gave a chance to TJ Waldburger to win against Ebersole. Well, TJ impressed in that fight as he shown slick submissions, brilliant counters and out-of this world submission transitions. Unfortunately, he lacked the gas to finish and Mr. Hair Row, who was surprisingly slow as if he caught STD in Thailand, took advantage and won.
- 8 people thought CJ keith is the better fighter: he has superb wrestling, better boxing and better explosiveness. TUF scrub disagrees and punched Keith out in the mount.
- Only 27% gave Mr. Inconsistency the chance to win. Well, chance favors the man well-prepared and Swanson was able to take advantage of Pearson falling down and made it look like he knocked him out when in fact Pearson fell and still well on his senses.
- Sam Stout was getting outstrucked by Fisher. Late Take Downs For The Win. Stout is a pussy. 25 people picked him though.
- 22 people (85%) gave Hioki the nod to win against Lamas. Heck, who would have thought Mr. Fuckface will win against Jose Aldo's next opponent? Well, 4 people in the camp and 3 judges gave Lamas the nod and they won.
- "Raging Warrior" - how tough one can be to sport that moniker. Oh, it fooled 15 people in our camp. Come on guys, don't pick based on monikers. Siler is a tough dude and cannot be fazed by a tough moniker.
- 6 people still doubted Matt Brown against a Jonathan Goulet-like fighter like Ramos. I hope you learned your lesson guys, Ramos will even be beaten by Arianny Celeste if they fight.
- Shivan Tiger oversold Keith Lesnar. Fortunately 24 people were not convinced of Mr. Brock's skill sets. Story though never impressed in the fight and he can't even finish a man smaller than him.
- 3 people here in our camp were avid fans of fairy tales. Adam Levine said it best, "these fairy tales are full of shit." Wanderlei will not be doing any come back fairy tale stories because Rich Franklin is a better, larger fighter than the Axe Muderer. Retirement is the better fairy tale though for both Ace and Wandy, they have nothing more to prove.
- 4 people gave Hacran Dias the nod. They won because Marajo's wrestling is as good as Pepey's striking.
- 5 people are avid fans of Police Academy as they picked Russow to win. Mike is tough but against Werdum? In Brazil? Russow might have been more successful busting the drug and crime mafia in Chicago than winning against Vai Cavalo.
- 14 people though Pague will win back-to-back. lest we forget, Dustin is a TUF scrub who was submitted by a can in Prince Albert. Still, Ken Stone could not capitalize and the best he can do is win a split decision.
- 9 people picked Pepey to win. Come on guys. you probably did not watch TUF Brazil. Leonard Garcia has better technical striking than Pepey. That's saying a lot.
- 4 people gave Moraes the nod. If not, for the points given to the 20 people, Moraes won that fight. Mutante was getting outstruck by a BJJ specialist. Mutante became tentative in the fight when Sergio hit him with an elbow. Daniel Serafian should be the TUF Brazil Middleweight Champion because he will kill Mutante if the fight.
The scores:
- The General of GSP's army Yan117 and wyldeman99 came out on top for this event scoring 104 points. Yan (or Yawn as Geno and Sergio pronounced) only got 11 out of 17 correct picks but he was able to get full points on the hot bout, Jason, Franklin, Story, Stout, and Ebersole. Wyldeman was able to also pick 11 out of 17 correct picks but was only able to get lesser full points so technically Yan117 won this event.
- Would you believe this? TWO WOMEN being on top of the other men in this event? Yes, your senses did not fool you. ricky dooby (I'm assuming you're sticky fingers too) and sarah got 100 points for this event and is tied. sarah actually has a better picking percentage going 12 of 17 with Ricky getting only half correct bouts at 9 out of 17. Either way, we want sarah on top of us but not on the pool.
- Yan 117 will give the sig of shame to Deuce02 who scored 62 points getting 11 out of 17 correct fights. That is a big improvement Deuce. But Moraes Round 2 TKO?
