UFC 147: "Silva vs. Franklin 2" from the Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $65,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's headed home with a second sack of simoleons.
Rodrigo Damm made quick work of Medeiros Anistavio on the FX broadcasted portion of the preliminary card, submitting his fellow countryman with a rear-naked choke in just over two minutes, earning him "Submission of the Night" honors.
That's about $32,500 per minute of fighting for all you math wizards out there.
For those of you who didn't bother to tune in to the Facebook portion of the fight card, you missed out on Marcos Vinicius Borges Pancini coming back from being down two rounds to zero to knock Wagner Campos out shortly into the third and final round. His big comeback earned him "Knockout of the Night" honors.
And you thought there was no reason to tune in. Pfft!
Finally, Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin were awarded "Fight of the Night" for their thrilling, back-and-forth war of attrition that saw "Ace" win yet another unanimous decision over "The Axe Murderer." Different weight, different time, different place, same result.
It sure was fun, though.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC 147:
Submission of the Night -- Rodrigo Damm
Knockout of the Night -- Marcos Vinicius Borges Pancini
Fight of the Night -- Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva
Again, each fighter received $65,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
