Video: Cub Swanson knockout of Ross Pearson at UFC on FX 4 in Atlantic City

Chin up + hands down = Knockout of the Night.

Too bad Mark Munoz was not in the corner of Ross Pearson last night (June 22, 2012) at Revel Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., to warn the fearless Brit that he was playing a dangerous game with Cub Swanson in their Featherweight fight at UFC on FX 4.

Pearson was machine-like in his quest to stalk and put his hands on the Greg Jackson-trained fighter, walking through strikes and punches just to land a few of his own. Swanson seemingly did everything right, but The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 9 winner just kept coming forward, unfazed.

Until round two.

Back pedaling, Swanson connected with a front kick, which he followed up with a quick right and then booming left hook that finally registered. Did it ever. Our own Kevin Haggerty had the call in our live, UFC on FX 4 blow-by-blow coverage thread:

"Swanson finally is able to get back up but eats a few shots while doing so. Swanson with a front kick. Pearson catches it on the chin. Swanson throws several punches in a row as he comes forward and that's it! A big left hook seals the deal and ends the fight."

Believe it or not, but Swanson now has strung together back-to-back UFC wins and has three victories in his last four appearances. That's pretty impressive, especially for a guy who has been struggling to live up to expectations since a submission loss to Jens Pulver way back in 2007.
