Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today (June 20, 2012) added yet another pair of welterweights to its upcoming UFC on FUEL TV 5 event scheduled for the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England on Sept. 29, 2012.
Resurgent British "Outlaw," Dan Hardy, is looking to continue his return from the brink of cutsville by putting boots to asses against fellow 170-pound striker Amir Sadollah, the promotion announced late last night.
Hardy (24-10) somehow managed to survive the ZUFFA firing squad after posting four consecutive losses inside the Octagon. His stay of execution, granted with a technical knockout win over Duane Ludwig at UFC 146 last month in Las Vegas, could only be temporary if he's unable to produce across the pond.
Hoping to play spoiler is Sadollah (6-3), who bounced back from a unanimous decision loss to "Bang" Ludwig at UFC on Versus 5 by squeaking past Jorge Lopez at the UFC on FUEL TV 3 event back on May 15. Like Hardy, the former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) champ needs a big performance in Nottingham to keep pace with the rest of the welterweight pack.
UFC on FUEL TV 5 will be headlined by a heavyweight battle pitting Stefan Struve vs. Stipe Miocic. In addition, bantamweight brawler Brad Pickett will take on Yves Jabouin while The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 15: "Live" contestant Andy Ogle goes to war against fellow featherweight and TUF veteran Akira Corassani.
