Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is headed back to court.

Will YOU be a witness?

"Bones" was scheduled to be sentenced today (June 19, 2012) in New York's Binghamton City Court, the same place that saw the 24-year-old fight phenom plead guilty to driving while intoxicated (DWI) earlier this month; however, a report from the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin indicates his court date has been postponed until July 3.

Jones, who was arrested in the wee hours of May 26 after crashing his Bentley into a utility pole, was also slapped with a pair of moving violations including "improper turn" and "deviating from a direct course."

Under the terms of his plea deal, those additional charges were dismissed.

The 205-pound champion is required to complete an alcohol abuse and dependency assessment before sentencing and will still defend his 205-pound strap against Dan Henderson at the UFC 151 pay-per-view (PPV) event from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sept. 1.

With any luck, Jones -- as well as the rest of the mixed martial arts (MMA) community -- can soon put this ugly incident to bed and get back to the business of cage fighting. Who else is ready to move on?
