Bibiano Fernandes pulled from UFC 149 fight card in Calgary (Updated)

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), shortly after losing its main event of Jose Aldo vs. Erik Koch, suffered yet another blow to its UFC 149 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, scheduled for Sat., July 21, 2012, at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Former DREAM 135-pound champion Bibiano Fernandes has been pulled from his bantamweight debut against Roland Delorme. That's according to a report from MMA Fighting that indicates the Brazilian never signed his ZUFFA contract and may even be fielding offers from ONE FC.

"I would like to make it clear that I am not a UFC athlete as I did not sign any contract with the UFC organization. Negotiations between the UFC and myself did take place, however, we could not resolve the issues on the table and as a result we did not come to an agreement."

The UFC initially reported an injury as the culprit for the recent change.

No word yet on whether or not "Stunning" will remain part of the "Faber vs. Barao" line-up, but we'll bring you that information just as soon as it's made available.

You mad?

UFC 149 now offers a reworked main event featuring a 135-pound Interim title fight between Urijah Faber and Renan Pegado. "Barao" is a late replacement for the injured champion, Dominick Cruz.

Other main card match-ups include Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's return from injury to face off against Cheick Kongo while Hector Lombard tries to get into the 185-pound title hunt against middleweight "Barbarian" Tim Boetsch.
