The British Yankees are coming!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today (June 11, 2012) confirmed last month's report that it's headed to the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England, for a FUEL TV show scheduled for Sept. 29, 2012.
And they already have a few names locked in for the trip across the pond.
Bantamweight brawler Brad Pickett will take on Yves Jabouin while The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 15: "Live" contestant Andy Ogle goes to war against fellow lightweight and TUF veteran Akira Corassani.
Tickets go on sale this Thursday (June 14).
UFC Fight Club members and UFC Newsletter subscribers, naturally, will be able to scoop up tickets prior to them being available for public consumption thanks to two separate special presales.
Here is the UFC Nottingham tickets sales schedule (Nottingham local time):
UFC Fight Club presale: Tues., June 12 at 9 a.m.
UFC Newsletter presale: Weds., June 13 at 9 a.m.
General tickets sale: Thurs., June 14 at 9 a.m.
Tickets for UFC Nottingham can be purchased through StubHub.com (Note: StubHub often has seats available even if the event is "sold out") or through UFC.com and Capitalfmarena.co.uk.
From UFC Managing Director of International Business Marshall Zelaznik:
"We are very excited to be going to Nottingham for the first time. Some of the biggest names in British mixed martial arts are from Nottingham, and the fans have been campaigning for us to bring a fight here for years. The U.K. fans are among the most passionate UFC supporters on Earth, and this is going to be a special night."
