One of the pound-for-pound best boxers alive returned to HBO pay-per-view (PPV) last night (Sat., June 9, 2012) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Manny Pacquiao looked to add another name to his legendary resume.
Unfortunately, Timothy Bradley -- and the ringside judges -- had other plans.
"Pacman" lost a controversial split decision that has more than a few pundits (and legions of combat sports fans) ready to call it quits on boxing altogether. Cooler heads will likely prevail but folks aren't happy about this one.
They weren't the only two in action on PPV last night, though. No, Jorge Arce and Jesus Rajos were all set for a slobberknocker but their fight ended early thanks to an unintentional foul by the latter. This is one rematch you should look forward to.
In addition, Randall Bailey scored an incredible come from behind knockout win in the 11th round over Mike Jones and Guillermo Rigondeaux dominated Teon Kennedy en route to a fifth round stoppage victory.
