This is what Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones looked like back on May 26, 2012 after being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). "Bones" was detained at the scene after crashing his Bentley into a utility pole.
But according to SI.com, he wasn't alone:
Michelle L. Vojtisek and Cara Johnson, both 25, sustained cuts, bruises and swelling from the collision and were transported to Wilson Hospital for treatment, according to the report. Both air bags had been deployed during the crash.
Johnson, who was in the front passenger seat, attended Union-Endicott High with Jones, according to online records.
Additional background information on Johnson can be found here.
In addition to DWI, he was also slapped with a pair of moving violations including "improper turn" and "deviating from a direct course." Under the terms of his recent guilty plea in Binghamton City Court, those additional charges have been dismissed; however, Jones did receive a temporary suspension of his driver's license.
"Bones," who is engaged and has two young children with his fiancée, Jessie Moses, also exhibited "slurred speech and glassy bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet" before refusing a breathalyzer test by the responding officer, according to the report.
Not a good look for the promotion's first-ever UFC sponsored fighter.
Jones must complete an alcohol abuse and dependency assessment prior to his sentencing on June 19 and is still expected to defend his 205-pound strap against Dan Henderson at the UFC 151 pay-per-view (PPV) event from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sept. 1.
