Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, you're gone from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
This is the hard lesson Jason Miller learned last night (Sat., May 26, 2012) following his unanimous decision loss to C.B. Dollaway during the FX broadcasted portion of the UFC 146: "Dos Santos vs. Mir" preliminary card.
"Mayhem" fought hard, rocking Dollaway at multiple points in the fight. But he could never quite put "The Doberman" down, not for good, anyway. This led to the opposite, actually, with the former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) finalist dragging Miller to the floor and controlling him from top position.
By the time the two finished their 15 minutes inside the Octagon, they had put on what would easily become the worst fight of the evening.
For Miller, it was the second consecutive piss-poor performance. He was throttled by Michael Bisping at the TUF 14 Finale in Dec. 2011 and was handled again here. According to Rob Tatum, that was enough for UFC President Dana White to decide to release the struggling middleweight from his contract.
Apparently, there was also some sort of issue backstage with Miller, as White said "some crazy shit happened." No word on what exactly that is but expect that information to become available in the coming days.
Loose lips and all that.
