The UFC 146: "Dos Santos vs. Mir" main card going down tonight (Sat., May 26, 2012) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, kicked off with the first of five heavyweight showdowns, as Stefan Struve took on Lavar Johnson.

Struve came in hoping to make the jump from contender to division elite. Standing in the way was Johnson, a Strikeforce import who has been kicking ass and taking names. Heads, too.

It's kind of hard to punch your opponent if he's torquing your arm sideways, though, and that's exactly what "The Skyscraper" did, using his long legs to pull guard before wrapping up an armbar submission that got the tap in the very first round.

I guess technique really does beat power. This time, at least.

Johnson came out fast and aggressive, pushing Struve against the fence with punches, including his now trademark uppercut. They pummeled against the fence and before long, Struve used his long legs to wrap around Lavar.

And just like that, the armbar finished the fight.

This is exactly what "The Skyscraper" said would happen. He hung with him on the feet -- for a few seconds, true, but he did -- before taking the fight to the floor and ending it with a submission.

Badda bing, badda boom.
