They're back.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is making its long-awaited return to Indiana, today confirming an Indy Star report that pegs the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as the target destination for its Sept. 7, 2012 network television broadcast.
Tickets for UFC on FX 5 go on sale on July 20.
The promotion made its first trip to the "Hoosier State" with UFC 119 back in Sept. 2010, featuring a putrid main event between Frank Mir and Mirko Filipovic. Retired fighter and political hopeful Chris Lytle was also on the card, exacting revenge on Matt Serra. Expect "Lights Out" to be in attendance -- this time as a fan -- the second time around.
UFC 119 drew $1,588,163 from 15,811 mixed martial arts (MMA) fans in attendance.
No potential fights or headliners have been announced; however, keep it locked in to MMAmania.com for all the relevant details as they become available.
