Yeah, that fight between Anthony Njokuani vs. Paul Taylor? It's probably never going to happen.
Fighters Only reports that Taylor suffered an undisclosed injury in training, forcing him out of his upcoming fight with "The Assassin" at UFC on FUEL TV 4, which is scheduled to take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., on July 11, 2012. The Lightweight scrappers were also booked to battle at UFC 138 in Nov. 2011; however, a car accident derailed that showdown.
Rafael dos Anjos has reportedly been tapped to replace "Relentless" opposite Njokuani.
The match up marks quick turnarounds for both fighters. Njokuani just competed at UFC 145: "Jones vs. Evans" last month, earning a unanimous decision win over John Makdessi to continue his pattern of win-one, lose-one. Dos Anjos, meanwhile -- who shares the same win-one, lose-one pattern -- is fresh off a submission of Kamal Shalorus last week at UFC on FUEL TV 3.
UFC on FUEL TV 4: "Munoz vs. Weidman" will feature two of the 185-pound division's best wrestlers -- Mark Munoz vs. Chris Weidman -- slugging it out in the "Shark Tank" to see who gets one step closer to challenging for the middleweight title later this year. In the co-main event of the evening, San Jose’s own Jon Fitch will battle Aaron Simpson in Welterweight action that also features two top-notch grapplers.
