Video: UFC fighters ring the NASDAQ stock market opening bell

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) sent a handful of representatives to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Monday (May 1, 2012) to ring the NASDAQ stock market opening bell.

In attendance were UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, former Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar, Strikeforce Women's 135-pound Champion Ronda Rousey and UFC on FOX 3 host Curt Menefee.

The collection of cagefighters were on hand to help promote the upcoming "Diaz vs. Miller" fight card, which headlines the network televised event on Saturday night (May 5) live from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ.

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is currently outlawed in the state of New York, forcing all East Coast live events to fall within surrounding areas like New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The world's largest fight promotion promises a UFC event in the "Empire State" sooner rather than later, but will first have to overcome the hurdles set by the culinary union.
