Like Cypress Hill said, we ain't goin' out like that.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight "Athlete" Jason MacDonald, who did a swan dive to the canvas in Tuesday's UFC on FUEL TV 3 event from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia, is not hanging up the gloves for good, despite what you may have heard in the waning minutes of the network television broadcast.
At least, not yet.
The longtime Canadian mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran was sent crashing to the floor last night (May 15, 2012) after a "Filthy" bomb from Tom Lawlor, who picked up a "Knockout of the Night" bonus for his efforts while simultaneously cashing a check to bigger and better opportunities within the division.
Despite the loss, MacDonald's second straight since returning from a horrific leg injury, UFC officials (via Twitter) insist he's got at least one more fight left in him.
To set record straight following #UFConFUEL3, @jaymac185 never said he's retiring. Tough break last night. Hope to see him back soon.
Perhaps we'll see "The Athlete" resurface in front of a hometown crowd at UFC 149 on July 21 in Calgary, in search of that "storybook ending" he's been after.
Stay tuned.
