Even though fans went "Haywire" for Gina Carano prior to her big screen debut, the former face of women's mixed martial arts (MMA) was unable to fight her way to box office success earlier this year.

Time to try again on DVD and Blu Ray.

Haywire was released to home video today (May 1, 2012) and that brought the former Strikeforce 145-pound contender back in front of the camera to discuss her evolution from fighter to actress (via USA Today):

"I was born very physical. I'm the middle child of three girls and my dad didn't have a boy, so I was pretty much that. I was always wrestling around and playing sports. My body and being physical has always been a way to express myself creatively. That's how I became a fighter."

Hear more from Carano on her body and her physicality, after the jump.
