UFC on FUEL TV 2 results and LIVE fight coverage for 'Gustafsson vs Silva' on April 14 in Sweden

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in action TODAY from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, featuring UFC on FUEL TV 2: "Gustafsson vs. Silva" on April 14, 2012.

UFC on FUEL TV 2 features native son Alexander Gustafsson in the headlining bout taking on Brazilian bomber Thiago Silva, who returns from his steroid suspension to replace the injured Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Other bouts booked for the overseas event include Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara (Middleweight) and Paulo Thiago vs. Siyar Bahadurzada (Welterweight).

MMAmania.com will provide LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the main card action on fight night (Sat., April 14), which is slated to air at 3 p.m. ET on FUEL TV. Alexander Gustafsson vs. Thiago Silva (205-pound limit)

Round one: Silva comes forward quickly and Gustafsson lands some nice counter shots. Gustafsson is working from the outside and Silva presses forward. Silva swings wildly and Gustafsson drops him hard with a short right uppercut. Gustafsson attacks with ground and pound but he lets Silva back to his feet and unloads a flurry along the fence. Gustafsson backs off and Silva is back on the attack but Gustafsson is more aggressive now. Gustafsson throws a nice leg kick and a quick right hand. Silva presses forward wining hooks and Gustafsson responds but Silva counters with a nice left hand which backs him off. Silva is not presses forward anymore like he normally does. He's definitely wary of Gustafsson here. Silva lands a nice outside leg kick. They trade kicks and Gustafsson is trying to work his range here. Head kick from Gustafsson is blocked. 10-9 Gustafsson

Round two: They open with some heavy exchanges and Gustafsson trips Silva. After some posturing, he allows Silva back to his feet. Gustafsson keeps pressing forward and the exchanges are a tad more even here. Gustafsson connects with a trio of front kicks and he backs Silva into the fence but Silva forces him to back off. Silva lands a nice left hand and then a right hand which backs Gustafsson up. They trade along the fence and Silva again lands a nice right hand but Gustafsson escapes danger and resets along the fence. Gustafsson presses forward and throws a flurry along the fence before backing off. Silva wings a right hand but it is blocked, another right hand is slipped by Gustafsson but he needs to counter it, not just avoid. Gustafsson throws a nice volume os strikes but Silva is covering up well. That was a much closer round but I'm still going 10-9 Gustafsson

Round three: Silva works his technical boxing but he can't sneak through when Silva covers up. He backs Silva off with a volume of strikes but doesn't connect with anything hard. Silva fires off a right hand but its' avoided and Gustafsson fires back with a nice uppercut. Silva lands a right hand and Gustafsson is still working from the outside. Body kick connects for Silva but Gustafsson throws a solid knee to the head. Another knee from Gustafsson as Silva ducks down and Silva's eye is bleeding and swelling up. Silva continues to throw power shots but he's not matching Gustafsson's volume. Nice inside leg kick from Silva and Gustafsson fires back with a straight right. One minute remaining and Gustafsson throws a nice knee and then a right hand which connect. Silva keeps pressing forward throws a nice uppercut as Gustafsson fire back while on his bicycle. 10-9 Gustafsson

Final result: Alexander Gustafsson defeats Thiago Silva via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara (185-pound limit)

Round one: Stann opens with a leg kick and Sakara is at the cage center. Stann throws another leg kick. Stann throws a third kick and Sakara counters with a nice combination which connects. They exchange heavily and Stann lands some big strikes. Stann throws a big knee and Sakara drops to his back. Stann throws some big punches on the ground but Sakara is defending himself well and he's stopped Stann's striking barage. Stann connects with a trio of left hands and Sakara's eyes roll back in his head as the ref comes in and puts a stop to it.

Final result: Brian Stann defeats Alessio Sakara via knockout at 2:26 of round one

Paulo Thiago vs. Siyar Bahadurzada (170-pound limit)

Round one: They stare each other down for a few seconds and Thiago charges forwards with an overhand right and Bahadurzada blasts him with a counter right hand while moving backwards and Thiago drops face-first completely out cold. Wow!

Final result: Siyar Bahadurzada defeats Paulo Thiago via knockout at 0:42 of round one

Dennis Siver vs. Diego Nunes (145-pound limit)

Round one: Siver takes control of the cage center early and Nunes is giving him space which is not a good sign. Nunes comes in with a looping hook and Siver scores a takedown and attacks the neck but Nunes forces him to back off. Siver is back in the cage center and Siver scores a nice body kick but Nunes fires back with a leg kick. Spinning back kick from Nunes and Siver fires off a push kick in response. Silver cracks Nunes with a high kick and Nunes throws a jump switch kick which is blocked. Nunes throws a solid leg kick and gets inside but eats a good counter from Siver. Nunes throws a leg kick and Siver again counters with a left hook. Both fighters trade blocked kicks and Nunes connects with a nice left hand of his own and then a leg kick. Spinning wheel kick is blocked from Nunes and Siver cracks him with a heavy leg kick. Nunes puts Siver in the clinch and throws knees but eats body punches in response. 10-9 Siver

Round two: Both men are still trying to find their range early as they trade some diverse kicks. Nunes throws a spinning back kick which is blocked and he closes the distance with a spinning back fist but Siver changes levels and puts him on the ground but Nunes pops right back to his feet. They trade punches and both men are connecting. The action has slowed a bit here and the round is still up for grabs. They briefly clinch and Siver goes high with punches and kicks and knocks Nunes backwards a bit. Siver connects with a push kick to the face and they trade heavily as Siver cracks Nunes with a nice left hook. Nunes whiffs on a head kick at the horn. 10-9 Siver

Round three: Nunes lands an inside leg kick and they exchange punches with Siver getting the better of them. The action is picking up a bit here and Nunes throws nice body kick and he staggers Siver with a left hand. Siver pops back to his feet and backs Nunes off with a flurry which draws cheers from the crowd. Nunes throws a nice right leg kick and he presses forward and eats a left hand. Siver's left hook has been his go-to move this fight. Nunes clinches and fires off some knees but they aren't very damaging. Nunes again initiates a clinch and throws a few knees to the body. Siver is bleeding now and Nunes connects with a big left hand. Nunes needs to really bring it in this last minute. He throws a spinning back kick and Siver ducks under it and presses him into the fence. Nunes is running out of time. They exchange in a flurry and Siver knocks Nunes off balance. They exchange until the final horn. 10-9 Nunes

Final result: Dennis Siver defeats Diego Nunes via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

DaMarques Johnson vs. John Maguire (170-pound limit)

Round one: Nice pair of inside leg kicks from Johnson early and Maguire lunges in with a right hand before scoring a big takedown. Johnson is stuck on his back here in full guard. Johnson attacks with an omaplata and both men scramble but Maguire remains on top when it's all said and done. Maguire passes to side control and he throws some decent strikes on the canvas and Johnson tries to turtle and escape but Maguire takes his back. He doesn't have much time to work here and Johnson survives until the end of the round. 10-9 Maguire

Round two: Maguire throws an overhand left and then transitions to a takedown, putting Johnson on his back but Johnson reverses the position and he's on top now. They're both handfighting here and Johnson is in Maguire's full guard, dropping a couple elbows. Maguire throws his legs up but Johnson escapes and passes to side control. Maguire turtles and Johnson attacks with a front head lock. Maguire pushes Johnson away and escapes back to his feet. Maguire is slowing down a bit here and he eats a strong inside leg kick. Johnson closes the distance and attacks with a standing head lock and Maguire reverses the position and scores a takedown with two minutes remaining. Johnson has an open guard and throws some elbows from bottom while Maguire is basically just hanging on here on top. Maguire passes to half guard and Johnson attempts a sweep but gets denied. Johnson is hunting for a Kimura but Maguire steps over and attacks Johnson with an armbar and he's got it locked in tight! Johnson is completely stuck here and he's forced to tap out!

Final result: John Maguire defeats DaMarques Johnson via submission (armbar) at 4:40 of round two

Brad Pickett vs. Damacio Page (135-pound limit)

Round one: Both men come out slugging hard and Pickett scores a takedown. He drops some punches from Page's guard and Page attempts an armbar which forces Picket to back off an let him up. Both men swing so hard they knock themselves off balance. Page connects with a big knee and a right hand and then changes levels for a takedown, landing in side control on the ground. Pickett turns into him and now he's working for a takedown and he gets it, landing in half guard. Pickett postures up and drops some nice right hands and Page attacks with a Kimura. Pickett slips free and drops some heavy right hands but Page has retained full guard. Page brings his legs up again and Pickett lets him back to his feet. I don't know if this is a good idea but we'll see. Page connects with a body kick and throws a flying knee but Pickett counters with a takedown and passes to side control. Pickett has Page pressed against the fence but Page wall-walks back to his feet. Page throws another knee and gets taken down at the end of the round. 10-9 Pickett

Round two: Pickett presses forward with punches and he lifts Page up, slamming him to the canvas but Page pops back to his feet and fires off a knee before backing away. Pickett cracks Page with a huge left hand which drops him and he swarms Page with ground and pound. Page has started to recover here but Pickett has Page's arm trapped and is dropping some big punches from behind. Page is still in trouble here and Pickett is thinking about a guillotine choke but Page slips his head out and now he's in top position. Pickett counters by pushing forward and pressing Page into the fence with a takedown attempt and now he's on top. Page works his way back to his feet and they reset. Page throws a big knee and Pickett counters with a combination and closes it with an uppercut and left hook. Page drops for a takedown and Pickett takes his back. Pickett is attacking with a rear naked choke and Page taps out! What a fight!

Final result: Brad Pickett defeats Damacio Page via submission (rear naked choke) at 4:05 of round two

Papy Abedi vs. James Head (170-pound limit)

Round one: Big kick by Head. Head comes forward aggressively with a combo. Head with a nice left cross. Head ties him up against the fence. It's all Head so far. Abedi reverses. Abedi gets the takedown. Abedi working isndie the full guard. Abedi trying to posture up but Head is doing a good job of controlling him. Three minutes left. Good elbows from the bottom by Head. Abedi pushes him towards the cage so he can get further inside the guard and work some ground and pound. Good body punch by Abedi. Head able to use the fence to get back up. Head comes forward with a big right and gets countered with a looping right to the head. Head comes forward and feints with a knee. Abedi ducks down for a takedown but eats a couple of punches. Head with a huge elbow and then a big combo of punches against the fence. Head takes him down and gets the full mount. Abedi rolls and gives up his back. He's in trouble! Head goes for the RNC! He gets it! James Head wins by rear-naked choke in the very first round.

Final result: James Head via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:33 of round one

Cyrille Diabate vs. Tom DeBlass (205-pound limit)

Round one: DeBalss rushes in with a few quick punches. DeBlass shoots but can't grab hold of a leg. DeBlass settles for a tie-up against the cage. DeBlass working to get the single leg...and he gets it. DeBlass on top and working inside the guard. Time to see if Diabate's ground game has evolved. He'll certainly be in a world of hurt if it hasn't. Diabate controlling the arm of DeBlass, making it difficult for him to make much of his position. DeBlass trying hard to pass and get to side control but Diabate controlling. DeBlass has one arm under the head and may eventually work for a d'arce or transition to an armbar. DeBlass being very patient and Diabate really looks like he has no idea what to do. Two minutes to go. DeBlass lands the punch to the side of the head. DeBlass still trying to get that leg out and can't but lands a few good elbows to the head. Just over a minute left and we're in the middle of a ground chess game. DeBlass finally gets his leg out and is in side control. Not a ton of time left, though. DeBlass pushes the head down with his elbow and appears to be trying for an ambitious move to full mount. The round expires with DeBlass in position for a choke. 10-9 DeBlass.

Round two: Diabate throws a slapping kick to the body but DeBlass catches it and takes him down, instantly. DeBlass in half guard, an almost identical position to where we left off at the end of the last round. DeBlass is in side control now. DeBlass lands a good elbow to the head. Diabate scrambles and tries to get up but gives up his neck. DeBlass has a guillotine but gives it up in trade for side control. DeBlass' corner yelling for him to get him in the crucifix mount, and it looks like he could get it if he wanted it. Diabate tries to get out the back door and he does. DeBlass controls the neck, but Diabate gets the takedown. Diabate is on top, an DeBlass is looked a little winded. Two and a half minutes left. Diabate with a kick to the side of the quad of his grounded opponent. Diabate looks to pounce but DeBlass grabs a foot, looking for a submission. Diabate, weary of the foot-lock, moves backwards and allows DeBlass to take dominant position in the process. DeBlass has side control. DeBlass rears back for a punch and Diabate gets up. Diabate reverses and gets the takedown. Diabate with some big hammerfists! Diabate with punches to the ribcage! Thirty seconds left. DeBlass just trying to survive as he's eating some wicked ground and pound. DeBlass is able to make it to the horn. 10-9 Diabate.

Round three: Diabate comes forward and lands a big combination of punches. DeBlass looks tentative. Diabate appears much more confident with his strikes. Diabate with another couple of big hands. DeBlass shoots and tries to grab a leg for a submission. Diabate is now on top and back to landing ground and pound. Bad spot for DeBlass unless a submission opens up for him. DeBlass is sucking a lot of wind here. Diabate with a good elbow. DeBlas tries to rock forward to get back up but he is easily pushed back down with hand by Diabate, who seems not to be gassed at all. Diabate rolls and actually leaves himself in a somewhat bad position. DeBlass has a cross-leglock but not deep. DeBlass gives up on the submission and jumps to side control. Diabate is able to escape out the back and DeBlass doesn't even try to stop him. DeBlass i laying on his back and it looks as though he's essentially given up. Thirty seconds left, Diabate on top landing elbows. The round ends with Diabate on top. 10-9 Diabate.

Final result: Cyrille Diabate via majority decision

Francis Carmont vs. Magnus Cedenblad (185-pound limit)

Round one: Cedenbland with kick attempt hat misses. Carmont throws high kick that falls short. Cedenbland with the front kick. Carmont ducks under a big right hand and shoots for the successful takedown. Carmont working inside the guard. Referee calls for action. Apparently, they detest the ground game in Sweden. Carmont tries to get his arm free and then rears back, looking to stack. Cedenbland gets out, back up, secures underhooks and then turns the tables with a takedown of his own. Cedenbland trying to get side control. Cedenbland has full mount now. Carmont in a very bad spot. The Swedish crowd is going nuts for the home country competitor! Carmont rolls and has given up his back. Cedenbland trying to get a choke in. Two minutes left. Cedenbland has the hooks in. Carmont trying very hard to get free but to no avail. Cedenbland still has his back and is looking to soften him up with punches. e continues to try to get his arm under Carmon'ts chin for a choke but can't quite get the angle. Carmont escapes and reverses! Very nice. Carmont inside the guard throwing big punches as the referee warns not to stall. Sigh. Big hammerfists from Carmont. Thirty seconds to go. Carmont in half guard trying to get his leg out. Carmont lands a few big elbows, but the Cedenbland reverses HIM to land a couple of punches, right as the horn sounds. Tough to call, but I'm giving Cedenbland the round, 10-9.

Round two: Carmont throws a big punch, then slips under for the takedown. Carmont on top. Cedenbland rolls. Carmont trying to get his back. Cedenbland very active from the bottom but Carmont is able to get full mount! He's punishing him from the top with huge punches! Cedenbland rolls and gives up his back. Carmont is unloading! Cedenbland is basically turtling up and getting destroyed. Carmont sinks in a rear-naked choke and it's over!

Final result: Francis Carmont via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:42 of round two

Reza Madadi vs. Yoislandy Izquierdo (155-pound limit)

Round one: Madadi comes forward with a lot of head movement. Izquierdo with the body front kick. Madadi shoots and gets the takedown. Madadi passes instantly and has side mount. Izquierdo threatens for a kimura but nothing doing. Madadi working for some kind of anaconda side choke. Madadi transitions to north-south and Izquierdo sneaks out and gets back up. Izquierdo comes forward and lands a knee and a couple of kicks. Big inside leg kick by Izquierdo. Madadi shoots and eats a knee from Izquierdo. Madadi ties him up against the fence and is working hard for the takedown. He trips him but Izquierdo gets right back up. Madadi trying to get underhooks. Two minutes left. Knee to the body by Madadi and the ref breaks them up. Big two punch combo by Izquierdo and then lands a big kick. Madadi thinking about shooting but Izquierdo is keeping him honest with knees and kicks. Ibside leg kick by Izquierdo. Izquierdo is unloading with punches. Madadi, clearly not liking the stand up, tangles him and takes him down. Madadi going for the choke as the horn sounds. VERY close round. I'm calling it 10-9 for Madadi but could be convinced otherwise.

Round two: Big kick by Izquierdo to the body. Outside leg kick by Izquierdo. Izquierdo rushes in with a big combo but gets taken down in the process. Madadi in side mount. Madadi tries to get an arm under for a north-south choke attempt. Izquierdo scrambles but puts himself in even worse position as Madadi sinks it in! He's got the choke and Izquierdo is tapping! That's a wrap!

Final result: Reza Madadi via submission (guillotine) at 1:28 of round two

Besam Yousef vs. Simeon Thoresen (170-pound limit)

Round one: Yousef comes out very aggressive, stalking and pushing the pace. Thoresen ducks under and tries to get underhooks. After a few seconds of grappling, they break. Big left hand by Yousef. Thoresen pawing with the jab and then eats a right. Thoresen shoots but is met with a sprawl. Big exchanges by both fighters but nothing lands squarely. Yousef throws a big left and misses, Thoresen ducks under and gets the takedown. Thoresen on top and is trying to work some ground and pound. Yousef very active from the bottom. Hammerfists by Thoresen. Elbows from the bottom by Yousef who is actually landing a bit of damage from there. Thoresen keeps rearing back to throw leather and gets nailed almost every time. Yousef has almost 3 to 1 striking advantage right now. Finally, the ref stands them up after some inactivity. Big knee by Yousef. Thoresen clinches and lands a knee of his own. Thai clinch from Thoresen and he lands a few really big knees. Just under a minute to go. Yousef landing some big punches to the body in the clinch. Big elbow to the head by Thoresen. Good uppercut by Yousef then a decent elbow. Great first round. I'm going to cop out here and call it a 10-10 round.

Round two: Fighters meet in the middle and exchange jabs. Big right hand misses from Yousef. Big left hook from Yousef, who's had a loty of success with that punch so far. Good jab from Thoresen. Yousef answers with the inside leg kick. Yousef throws several big punches but nothing lands. Thoresen shoots but Yousef defends well. Yousef lands a knee and a big kick to the body. Thoresen lands a big elbow in the scrum. He's on top of him now. He's got his back. He's working for a choke. Yousef could be in trouble. Three minutes to go. Yousef is able to get out, but Thoresen still has him in a body lock. Thoresen is punishing him from the top with elbows. Thoresen gets his back again and he is pummeling him. He goes for the choke again. He's got it deep! It's all over! Thoresen gets the RNC victory!

Final result: Simeon Thoresen via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:36 of round two

Jason Young vs. Eric Wisely (145-pound limit)

Round one: The fighters touch gloves and we're under way! Big leg kick by Young. Wisely answers with a kick to the body. Young throws a head kick that misses. Patient and controlled pace so far. Wisely rushes in, lands a left hand and gets right back out. Jab by Wisely countered by a combo from Young. Spinning back kick by Wisely and Young grabs his back in the process. Young has him pinned against the cage and trying to take him down now. Wisely defending. Knees to the back of the thighs by Young. Referee breaks them up and back to center. Just under three minutes left. Big head kick attempt from Wisely that is almost caught by Young. Good outside leg kick by Wisely, but Young answers quickly with a right hand and an immediate takedown. Young on top inside the guard. Young looking to pass. He stacks him and tries to land a punch from the top. Young backs away with Wisely on his back still. About a minute to go. Young throwing and landing kicks to the outsides of the quads and the ref stands Wisely up. Big body kick by Wisely. And another. High kick by Wisely, which gets caught, resulting in him being taken down again. Not much time left in the round. Young on top. Young posturing up and landing some good, quick, close range elbows. 10-9 Young.

Round two: Outside leg kick by Wisely answered by a flurry of fists from Young. Good right hand by Wisely. Young rushes in and ties him up against the fence. Young gets the trip and the takedown and is back on top again. Young looking to work inside the guard and do some damage from the top. Wisely holding the head down. Good punches to the ribs by Young. Referee puzzlingly warning for action and may stand them up soon. Young slips out and stands over Wisely, landing kicks to the quads again. Wisely scoring occasional kicks to the shins. Young pounces and lands a big right hand and he's back in the guard. Just under three minutes to go in the round. Young stands again and looks for an opportunity to land punches. He goes for another big right hand that misses and he's back inside the guard. Wisely is active from the bottom but not really doing damage or threatening. It's been all Jason Young this round. Good body-to-head combo from the top by Young. Young rears back again and the referee lets Wisely up. One minute left. Good outside leg kick by Wisely. Wisely is landing kicks, but every time, Young either answers or catches it and takes him down. Which, he just did again. Last 30 seconds of the round and Young is back on top in the guard. The round will end that way. Young 10-9.

Round three: By front kick by Wisely. Wisely looks for the takedown and to take his back. Wisely is like a man on fire, knowing he needs a finish. Young gets free and throws a big kick to get him to back off. Big right hand by Wisely. And another. Wisely looks like a totally different fighter. Good one two combo by Wisely. Good knee by Wisely in the clinch and they break. Flying knee misses by Young. Outside leg kick by Young. And another. Wisely drops down and lands a looping right hand. Wisely with good movement. Three to go. Outside leg kick by Wisely, caught by Young, and Young is back on top with Wisely on his back. That has to be frustrated for Wisely. He was just starting to get off. He just can't keep throwing those sidekicks. Two minutes to go in the round and in the fight. Young is working the ribs with short punches. Young postures up and lands several BIG punches from the top. Young looks to pass. Wisely throws up a half hearted triangle attempt but doesn't hit with it. Young stands, kicks the quads of Wisely, on his back, then drops down inside the guard again. Referee stands them and yells: "Fight!" Referee is doing a terrible job in this fight, seeming to be irritated every time the fight hits the canvas. Come on guy. This is mixed martial arts, in case you didn't get the memo.
