Mark Munoz is all fired up! He gets to headline UFC on FUEL TV 4 against another decorated wrestler and top Middleweight contender, Chris Weidman.

Mark Munoz liked the idea of fighting Chris Weidman in July just a few days ago. Now, he gets the opportunity to fight him in the main event of the upcoming UFC on FUEL TV 4, which is scheduled to take place at on July 14, 2012, according to the latest episode of "UFC Tonight."

Funny how that happens.

Munoz has won four consecutive fights inside the Octagon, which was good enough to land him in a number one Middleweight contender eliminator match against Chael Sonnen at UFC on Fox 2 earlier this year. However, "The Filipino Wrecking Machine" suffered an elbow injury in training and was forced to withdraw from the 185-pound bout.

Michael Bisping was promoted to the co main event in replace of Munoz and went on to lose a surprisingly close decision. The rest is history. However, in an odd twist of fate, Bisping's original UFC on Fox 2 opponent, Demain Maia, was left without on opponent when "The Count" accepted the Sonnen challenge.

Weidman was the man who actually stepped up on short notice; however, in doing so, he was forced to cut 32 pounds in 10 days to make the division limit. He did it, but his performance against the Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist suffered tremendously as a result.

Nonetheless, Weidman persevered and went on to win a sluggish unanimous decision.

He managed to not only pick up the most important win of his young mixed martial arts (MMA) career, but also keep his perfect professional record intact. In addition, Weidman immediately jumped up the rankings and got himself right in the mix of the Middleweight division.

Now, he has the opportunity to take it even one step further in a main event against one of the division's top dogs.

No other bouts (besides a possible match up between Brandon Vera vs. James Te Huna) nor a possible venue and/or location for the FUEL TV 4 fight card are known at this time.
