Rory MacDonald scores a second round stoppage of Che Mills in their co-main event fight last night (Sat., April 21, 2012) at UFC 145 from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The going was rough early for MacDonald, who found himself in a bit of trouble standing and trading punches with the British brawler. But once he got the fight to the mat, which he was able to do with little resistance, that was all she wrote, as "Ares" spent the next round and a half dominating his opponent from top position.
Eventually, MacDonald overwhelmed Mills and continued his ascent up the welterweight ladder. And while he says he won't ever fight current 170-pound champion Georges St. Pierre, if he keeps winning at this rate, he'll have to make a decision about changing weight classes sooner rather than later.
That's a good problem to have, though.
