The only heavyweight match-up to take place on the UFC 145: "Jones vs. Evans" fight card taking place at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, tonight (Sat., April 21, 2012) saw Brendan Schaub and Ben Rothwell meet in the center of the cage to throw some blows.

Both men were returning from long layoffs and ugly losses in their previous fights. Schaub was knocked clean out by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Rothwell dropped an embarrassing decision to Mark Hunt. So who rebounded with a victory?

That would be "Big" Ben Rothwell, who came into the fight in the best shape of his life and it paid off with a first round knockout victory, one he badly needed to establish himself as a player in the heavyweight division.

As for Schaub, that's two embarrassing knockouts in a row. When it rains, it pours.

The two heavy bangers came out and did some heavyweight banging. It was Schaub who landed clean first, catching Rothwell hard on the chin with a spinning elbow. He ran in hard to finish the job once he saw Rothwell was hurt but he got caught after rushing in with a big left hook.

It put "The Hybrid" on his ass and he was so out of it, he was fighting the air while Rothwell was already celebrating his victory.

Wam bam, thank you ma'am.
