Bellator Fighting Championships returns TONIGHT (April 20, 2012) to the IX Center in Cleveland, Ohio, with the continuation of two tournaments and a huge non-title fight.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of Bellator 66 below, beginning with the MTV2 telecast at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, we'll deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of all the undercard action much earlier in the evening (beginning at 6:30 p.m.).
Headlining the main event will be a much-anticipated lightweight rematch between top 10 fighters Eddie Alvarez and Shinya Aoki. The Japanese submission wizard, Aoki, defeated Alvarez at Dynamite!! 2008 in Saitama, Japan and Alvarez has been begging for a rematch ever since.
Also on the card, the Bellator season six middleweight tournament semifinals will be taking place as Maiquel Falcao battles Vyacheslav Vasilevsky and Ohio's own Brian Rogers takes on tournament alternate Andreas Spang.
Lastly, the Bellator season six lightweight tournament will also be holding its semifinals as former welterweight finalist Rick Hawn battles underdog fan-favorite Lloyd Woodard and Kentucky's Brent Weedman takes on Brazilian kickboxer Thiago Michel.

155 lbs.: Eddie Alvarez vs. Shinya Aoki
Round one: Alvarez is looking to box and Aoki is flashing a jab early. Very tentative start to the fight and Aoki shoots in before falling to his back. Alvarez backs off. Aoki throws a push kick and Alvarez lands a straight left. Aoki throws a nice right hand and Alvarez circles away. Aoki comes inside and Alvarez drops a right hand to the body. Aoki throws a left and Alvarez drops him with a right hand! Alvarez connects again on the ground and Aoki is hurt. Alvarez smashes with ground and pound and Aoki's corner throws in the towel. The ref doesn't see the towel! Alvarez blasts Aoki with more punches and the ref finally intervenes. Daaaaamn!
Final Result: Eddie Alvarez defeats Shinya Aoki via TKO at 2:14 of round one

185 lbs.: Andreas Spang vs. Brian Rogers
Round one: Spang looking to establish some leg and body kicks early. He whiffs on a spinning back fist and Rogers lands a short kick/knee to the groin. They reset quickly an dRoger connects hard, pressing Spang into the fence and he throws a huge head kick but falls to his back. As Rogers gets back to his feet, Spang leaps on his back and attacks with a rear naked choke. Rogers is hanging on here, just trying to survive and he squirms out of the first choke attempt. Rogers turns and dumps Spang on the ground, dropping some hammer fists and then backing off. He pushes Spang back with a combination. Big right hand from Rogers rocks Spang and he throws a huge flying knee. He's got Spang pinned against the fence and Spang is in trouble but Spang backs him off with some crisp hooks. The right hand is working for Rogers. Rogers catches a kick and clocks Spang with a right hand. He follows Spang to the ground and Spang attacks with a heel hook but Rogers almost takes his back and he's attacking with a sloppy rear naked choke without both hooks in. Spang survives and Rogers is on his back now in closed guard. Spang postures up and drops some punches and Rogers scrambles but stays on his back. They finish the round that way. So many momentum shifts, I honestly don't know how to score that one. 10-9 Spang
Round two: Rogers come out aggressively, blasting Spang with a flurry of punches. Spang throws a right hand but Rogers counters. Another right hand lands for Rogers. Leg kick from Spang gets caught and Rogers throws a few rights. Spang lands a nice left and Rogers' hand are pretty low. Both men throw heavy with power and Spang eats a huge right hand. Rogers goes low and blasts Spang to the body with a left hook. More nice counter shots from Rogers and Spang is forced to back off. They collide into each other throwing and both land nice right hands. Rogers is almost purely looking to counter now. Rogers connects witha big combination and Spang is rocked and trapped against the fence. Huge flurry from Rogers and Spang fires back with a nice left hook. Spang is still stuck against the fence and Rogers needs to keep his hands up if he's gonna throw some aggressively. Big left hook connects for Rogers and Spang blasts Rogers with a left hand and Rogers goes down! Spang throws a right hammer fist and the ref intervenes. Wow!
Final Result: Andreas Spang defeats Brian Rogers via TKO at 3:34 of round two

185 lbs.: Vyacheslav Vasilevsky vs. Maiquel Falcao
Round one: Falcao wings a hook early but Vasilevsky avoids it. Vasilevsky has control of the center for now and Falcao fires off a nice leg kick and then another. Vasilevsky scores a trip takedown and he's firmly in Falcao's guard along the fence for now, trying to create space and land punches. Falcao throws his legs up working for an armbar and he's got Vasilevsky's wrist locked up but the Russian is defending well and he's back into the closed guard. Falcao has wrist control for now but gives up on it and Vasilevsky tries to posture up and drop some punches but Falcao is defending very well. Falcao pushes him off but Vasilevsky immediately clinches and takes Falcao down again into side control but this time, Falcao counters and gets back to his feet. Vasilevsky has inside position against the fence and he scores another takedown. He's catching Falcao off guard here with all these takedowns although he's doing next to nothing with them. The ref stands them up with 15 seconds left and Falcao seems flustered. He throws a leg kick and whiffs with a huge overhand right at the bell. 10-9 Vasilevsky
Round two: Falcao is being really passive now, concerned about the takedown perhaps and Vasilevsky puts some pressure on him with forward movement. They trade left hooks and Falcao misses with a looping right hand. Vasilevsky is opening up a bit with his strikes but still being very cautious. Falcao is fighting extremely defensively and he's not landing hardly any strikes. They clinch in the cage center and Vasilevsky scores a beautiful trip takedown, passing directly into side control. Falcao turns into him and he gets to his feet, pressing Vasilevsky into the fence. Vasilevsky responds with a standing guillotine choke attempt and he throws a nice knee to the body against the fence. Falcao responds with a short right hook and a few short uppercuts on the inside. Now Falcao scores a takedown and he's in Vasilevsky's guard, dropping some short punches on the ground. Falcao drops a few nice punches on the ground as time expires and the crowd isn't feeling it. Close round, perhaps Falcao took it back in the end with the takeodown and punches. 10-9 Falcao
Round three: Both men come out much more aggressive with their strikes early, exchanging in the pocket. Falcao is standing his ground and he cracks Vasilevsky with a big right hand which rocks him. Falcao pushes forward, putting Vasilevsky in the clinch and throwing heavy knees to the body and then a nice short right hand. Vasilevsky is hangin on here but he's still hurt. Falcao connects with a nice uppercut and hook and he pushes Vasilevsky into the fence but Vasilevsky reverses him. Falcao separates and throws a nice left hook and then a leg kick. Falcao is gaining confidence. Vasilevsky attempts a takedown but gets denied this time. Vasilevsky shoots in and puts Falcao on his back, dumping him into half guard .Vasilevsky passes to mount but Falcao bucks and reverses him, landing in half guard. Falcao is glued to Vasilevsky on top but he's not doing much damage. Short punches from Falcao and then some heavier ones to the body. Falcao throws some hammer fists to the chin and Vasilevsky turns into him. Vasilevsky pops to his feet and Falcao has him in the clinch, throwing a pair of nice knees but Vasilevsky scores a takedown at the bell. 10-9 Falcao
Final Result: Maiquel Falcao defeats Vyacheslav Vasilevsky via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

155 lbs.: Lloyd Woodard vs. Rick Hawn
Round one: Woodard presses forward immediately and they clinch. It looks like a knee from Woodard landed low. They reset and Woodard throws a big inside leg kick and he's the aggressor early. Hawn clinches and presses him into the fence. Hawn throws some short punches to the body inside and Woodard responds with weak hammer fists to the back. Woodard throws a knee in the clinch and Hawn still has him pressed firmly into the cage. They're stalemated here and the ref separates them after a low knee from Woodard. Woodard throws a front kick and Hawn responds with a leg kick. Woodard is taunting now, talking shit in the cage. Woodard throws a flying knee which Hawn sidesteps. Woodard throws a big hook and Hawn ducks under it, slamming him to the canvas. Woodard scrambles to his feet and he attempts to take Hawn down and he's in a reverse body lock but Hawn turns into him. They're stuck in the clinch again and the ref separates both fighters. Woodard throws a nice left hand and Hawn clinches again, pushing Woodard into the cage until the bell sounds. 10-9 Hawn
Round two: Woodard lunges forward recklessly and Hawn LEVELS him with a huge right hand. Woodard drops and Hawn keeps pounding him until the ref pulls him off. Wow!
Final Result: Rick Hawn defeats Lloyd Woodard via TKO at 0:10 of round two

155 lbs.: Brent Weedman vs. Thiago Michel
Round one: Weedman takes quick control of the cage center and they exchange kicks as Michel is on his bicycle early. Weedman connects with a nice left kick and Michel's leg kick is checked. Weedman pushes forward and he lands a nice leg kick again and then another. Michel throws a front kick which is blocked. Michel closes the distance and scores a quick inside takedown and Weedman is working a sweep to get on top. Michel tries to throw him but Weedman lands on top position and now he's in side control. Michel throws his legs up and he's got Weedman locked up but he can't secure anything and Weedman remains on top in side control. Weedman goes knee to belly but backs off the mount attempt. Weedman is attacking witha D'Aarce choke but Michel slips out and gets back to his feet. Nice leg kick from Weedman and Michel connects solidly with a front kick to the chin. Weedman responds with a body kick. Michel throws a nice flurry and finishes it with a head kick that's caught. Weedman can't do anything with it and now Michel is gaining confidence with his kicks, loosening up. Weedman clinches and scores a takedown in the final 10 seconds. Close round but I'm leaning 10-9 Weedman
Round two: Michel is the aggressor early as he wades in with some big hooks but Weedman responds with a pair of kicks, using his length. Nice straight left from Weedman and Michel is stalking him now. Weedman tries to clinch but is denied. Nice inside leg kick from Weedman and he follows it up with a combination. Weedman slips throwing a kick but pops back to his feet. Weedman shoots in for a takedown but Michel Sprawls and he's attacking with some sort of anaconda choke. Weedman seems to be fine however and he's on top in side control, now he slips free. Weedman loads up and drops a huge knee to the body from side control. Big knee again from Weedman and Michel tries to buck him to no avail. Michel turns into Weedman while he's trying to grab onto something and now he's on top in Weedman's guard. Michel starts dropping down punches as Weedman reverse rolls and attacks with a single leg takedown. Michel tries to use the whizzer but Weedman is back into side control again along the fence with 50 seconds left. Nice knee from Weedman again before the round ends. 10-9 Weedman
Round three: On my scorecard Michel needs to do something drastic. Weedman is the aggressor early as Michel backs away, circling and throwing some push kicks. They trade straight punches and Weedman throws a nice combination to back Michel off. Michel fires off a short range knee but it only grazes. Weedman continues to push forward and he throws a nice head kick but he slips and falls to his back. Michel is swarming him with ground and pound with a sense of urgency but Weedman is defending and he gets back to his feet. Weedman has a cut under his left eye now and he looks like he's a step slower in the striking exchanges. Weedman clinches, pressing Michel into the fence and throwing some short knees to Michel's side and he scores a nice takedown from the position, again landing directly into side control. Michel turtles and Weedman has a head lock but he gets back to his feet and now he's the one pressing Weedman into the fence. They reset and Michel throws a nice spinning back kick which nails Weedman in the body and then a front kick. Michel attacks with a head kick and then a body kick but Weedman backs him off with a push kick of his own. Weedman is stalking again from the cage center and Michel presses forward throwing a front kick but he needs to do something drastic. Weedman lunges in with a huge left hook and he drops for a leg lock at the final bell. That round might have been closest of all. 10-9 Michel
Final Result: Brent Weedman defeats Thiago Michel via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)
