Who said planking was dead?
His form may be a little off but Paulo Thiago brought back the fad in a big way when he got caught rushing in on Siyar Bahadurzada and was knocked out cold at the UFC on FUEL TV 2: "Gustafsson vs. Silva" event that went down yesterday (Sat., April 14, 2012) in Stockholm, Sweden.
Fist met face, face met canvas, and the perfect picture you see above was the result.
Outside of the embarrassment of the position, the loss drops Thiago to just 1-3 in his last four fights. Granted, those losses came against strong competition (Diego Sanchez, Martin Kampmann) but failing to win moderately big fights tends to lower a fighter's career ceiling.
Will the Brazilian supercop ever break through? That remains to be seen. In the meantime, enjoy this picture of him planking with assistance from the UFC newcomer, Bahadurzada.
