Resurrection Fighting Alliance 2 results and LIVE fight coverage for 'Yvel vs. Alexander' TONIGHT (March 30)

Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) returns TONIGHT (March 30, 2012) with its second event from the Viaero Event Center in Kearney, Nebraska.

MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of RFA 2 below, beginning with the live stream on Sherdog.com at 9 p.m. ET. 6 p.m. PT. In addition, we'll deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of all the undercard action much earlier in the evening.

RFA 2 features two former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veterans as Gilbert Yvel takes on Houston Alexander in the main event of the evening. Alexander will try to get back in the win column after losing his last time out while "The Hurricane" will try to make it two wins in a row after losing three consecutive fights inside the Octagon.

Also filling out the card is The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 15 reject Dakota Cochrane taking on Cliff Wright in a lightweight showdown. Plus, Long time mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Maurice Smith returns from his four year layoff to take on Jorge Cordoba. Lastly, one of the top female fighters in the world, Tara LaRosa will return to action as she tries to extend her win streak to three as she takes on Kelly Warren in the Flyweight division.

205 lbs.: Houston Alexander vs. Gilbert Yvel

Round one: Alexander immediately catches Yvel with a right to the head and connects with a nice low leg kick that sends Yvel to the ground. Yvel quickly back to his feet. Another leg kick attempt from Alexander but catches air. Yvel hesitant to pull the trigger. Alexander coming forward showing great movement on his feet. Alexander throwing some nice leg kicks. Yvel yet to put out any offense. Nice jabs from Alexander, snapping Yvel's head back. Alexander continuously finding success with his leg kicks. Yvel stuns Alexander with a left hook and connects with a lightning quick right that drops Alexander to the canvas and that is all she wrote! Wow, sudden turn for the best for Yvel as he makes up for his slow start to get the vicious knockout victory!

Final Result: Gilbert Yvel defeats Houston Alexander via knockout at 3:59 of round one

155 lbs.: Cliff Wright Jr. vs. Dakota Cochrane

Round one: Cochrane comes out light on his fight throwing some jabs and quickly pins Wright against the cage. Wright reverses position and now has Dakota against the fence and connects with a nice knee to the midsection. Cochran drops levels and goes for a take down but Wright defends well. Cochrane tries hard for the take down but Wright gets a guillotine in. Cochrane escapes and rains down some nice elbows. Wright looking for an armbar but Dakota escapes and rains down some more elbows. Cochrane looking to pass to full mount but Wright reverses position and now has Cocnhrane's back and gets the rear-naked choke. Herb Dean looking on closely and Cochrane is sleeping. Wright gets the impressive submission win!

205 lbs.: Jorge Cordoba vs. Maurice Smith

Round one: Cordoba comes out aggressive. Smith is very calm, taking his time while Cordoba swings some wild hay makers. Cordoba continues to swing for the fences catching nothing but air. Nice knee in the clinch from Smith and Cordoba answers with some nice body shots. Cordoba pushes Smith against the cage and gets the the hip toss take down but Smith reverses and gets half guard. Looking to pass but Cordoba defends well. Smith grinding his elbow in the face of Cordoba and lands a few elbows in the process. The two scramble as the fight comes to an end. Smith gets the first round. 10-9 Smith.

Round two: Cordoba rushes Smith yet again, but does not land any of his punches. Nice straight left from Smith, whipping Cordoba's head back. Nice jab from Smith and Cordoba has his mouth piece hanging out, visibly gassed. Smith connects with a nice combination and is peppering his opponent with some clean jabs. Smith looks to be finding his groove and is connecting at will. A left and right connect from Smith and lands front kick to the chest of Cordoba. Nice left kick from Smith and Cordoba's face is battered. Smith not looking like a 50 year old at all. Maurice has the clinch and connects some nice knees but Cordoba refuses to back down. Nice heart from Cordoba but Smith takes round two. 10-9 Smith.

Round three: Cordoba rushes his opponent yet again and gets the take down. Smith scrambles to his feet and breaks away connecting with a knee in the process. Nice left kick connecting on the thigh of Cordoba and he is now breathing hard. Nice knee and straight right from Smith as he connects with pretty much anything he throws. Nice kicks from Smith as Cordoba is backing down and Smith connects with a perfectly placed right head kick, knocking Cordoba clean out! Wow, great performance from the long time mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran.

Final Result: Maurice Smith defeats Jorge Cordoba via knockout (right head kick) at 2:05 of round three

125 lbs.: Kelly Warren vs. Tara LaRosa

Round one: Round one: Feeling out process for the first minute. LaRosa connecting on a couple of jabs. Nice left hook from Warren. Both women light on their feet. Warren rushes in with a little flurry but nothing connects. Not a lot of action halfway through the opening frame. LaRosa pins Warren against the fence, fighting for position and Warren defends well avoiding the take down. Warren avoids the hip toss and now has LaRosa's back. Warren fighting for the takedown and Larosa defends well. Larosa throws a few backwards elbows but none connect as the uneventful first round comes to an end. 10-9 LaRosa.

Round two: Both still hesitant to pull the trigger. LaRosa once again pins Warren against the cage and Warren quickly reverses position. Battle for position and LaRosa yet again go for a hip toss but is defended well by Warren. The two breakaway. LaRosa connects with a nice left and grabs a hold of Warren and pulls guard. Nice sweep by Larosa and is now in half-guard against the cage. The referee inexplicably stands them up. Left head kick miss from Warren and LaRosa connecting with a few clean jabs. Warren walks into a straight left from Larosa as the round comes to an end. 10-9 Larosa

Round three: Nice head kick from Warren connecting on LaRosa's jaw and Tara smiles. Both scramble and Warren gets the takedown and is now in LaRosa's guard. Some body shots from Warren and she pops up to her feet as Tara takes advantage and goes for an ankle lock. After a scramble on the floor, LaRosa reverses position and now has Warren's back. Warren trying to shake Tara off but LaRosa has a nice body triangle locked in. LaRosa looking for the rear-naked choke but Warren defends well. LaRosa quickly traps Warren's arm, Warren trying to hang on, but she finally gives in and taps right before the round comes to an end. Tara gets the win with one second to spare.

Final Result: Tara LaRosa defeats Kelly Warren via submission (armbar) at 4:59 of round three
