Bob Sapp vs. James Thompson

Round one: Sapp lumbers forward and Thompson scores a takedown. Thomspon drops right hands from side control and Sapp is covering up doing nothing. Sapp is hanging on just eating punches and he's completely helpless. Sapp tries to use a pure strength sweep but Thompson denies it. Sapp actually does sweep Thompson here and he drops big hammer fists from top position. Holy crap Bob Sapp is actually landing some offense! Thompson drives forward and sweeps with a takedown and Sapp lands awkward and taps the canvas. It looks like he hurt his quad.

Final Result: James Thompson defeats Bob Sapp via submission (injury) at 1:52 of round one

Lena Ovchynnikova vs. Sanja Sucevic

Round one: Both ladies land big body kicks and Ovchynnikova connects with a nice left hand. They clinch and exchange strikes and Ovchynnikova throws Sucevic over her hip and passes directly to mount. Ovchynnikova throws some punches from mount and transitions to an armbar but Sucevic slips free. Sucevic attempts a guillotine and then attempts a leg lock before switching to an armbar. Ovchynnikova picks her up and tries to slam free. They scramble and Sucevic lands in top position and now she's in full mount but Ovchynnikova sweeps her and takes top position in full guard. Ovchynnikova sits back and attacks with a leg lock but can't secure it and they both pop back to their feet. Sucevic takes inside position in the clinch along the fence. Ovchynnikova scores a takedown but Sucevic takes top position. Sucevic attacks Ovchynnikova's back as the round finishes. 10-9 Sucevic

Ovchynnikova is hunting for another armbar and she gives up the mount to try another armbar but Sucevic escapes and takes Ovchynnikova's back. Sucevic puts her hooks in, flattens Ovchynnikova out and then locks in a rear naked choke. She puts her hips into it and Ovchynnikova taps the canvas!

Final Result: Sanja Sucevic defeats Lena Ovchynnikova via submission (rear naked choke) at 2:28 of round two

Nail Natasadu vs. Travis Bell

Round one: Natasadu opens with a hard body kick but Bell takes him down immediately. Bell has not passed his guard yet but he drops an elbow and some punches to the body. Bell needs to try to pass guard as the ref warns him and he does. Bell is in side control here and transitions to mount. Natasadu is definitely in trouble now as Bell drops some punches and he's looking for an armbar I think. Bell drops some elbows, posturing up and Natasadu is bloodied up. Natasadu is just covering up and Bell continues to throw some punches and then some short elbows. Natasadu is bleeding and Bell should really go for a submission here but he's just dropping punches and elbows until the end of the round. 10-8 Bell

Round two: Natasadu throws a nice right hand but Bell shoots in and scores an easy takedown. Bell passes to half guard and is working his way to side control and gets it. Gavali lunges forward and throws a big combination, landing a few of his shots before resetting. Gavali wades inside and both men again trade heavy, heavy strikes. Gavali clinches but Tiran forces a separation and they begin circling each other. Leg kick from Tiran and Gavali shoots in and scores a takedown, landing in half guard. He tries to pass to mount but drops some big punches to the body. Gavali drops some elbows and punches from above but he backs off and Tiran pops back to his feet the second he gets some free space. They circle for the final 40 seconds before the horn sounds. 10-9 Gavali

Round two: Lots of posturing early in this fight as both fighters are being cautious. After over two minutes, Gavali shoots in for a takedown but only keeps Tiran down for a second before popping back to his feet. This is very frustrating as neither man is exchanging and Tiran is moving backwards the entire time. I don't think one strike has landed the entire round. That sucked. 10-10

Round three: They exchange punches early and we're right back to the nothing from last round. Neither man is doing much as both are at a distance. Tiran throws some kicks but Gavali is far enough away to avoid them and he fires back with a right hand. Gavali shoots in for a takedown but gets stuffed and Tiran fires back with heavy strikes. 30 seconds left and the round is up for grabs. Gavali shoots in and scores a takedown, dropping big elbows to the body as time expires. Screw it, 10-9 Gavali

Final Result: Chaitanya Gavali defeats Tiran Thakshala via unanimous decision (30-27 x3)

Mohd Shahid vs. Mayura Dissanayake

Round one: Mayura clocks Shahid with a nice right hand and then a solid knee in the clinch. Mayura blasts Shahid again with a knee but Shahid fires back before breaking free. Shahid lands a leg kick and then another while moving backwards. Mayura and Shahid trade leg kicks as both men are at a distance. Mayura throws a nice inside leg kick. They clinch and Shahid takes inside position, throwing a nice knee to the leg and body. Shahid had a tight grip on the fence but the ref doesn't see it. Shahid continues to throw knees from inside position in the clinch and the ref warns him about holding the fence. 10-9 Shahid

Round two: Shahid throws an inside leg kick and Mayura taunts him a bit. Shahid throws a pair of body kicks and then clinches, pushing Mayura into the fence. Mayura attempts to take Shahid's back during a scramble but he slips off and Shahid is in his full guard in top position. Shahid drops some big right hands and a pair of elbows. Big elbows from Shahid here and Mayura is cut. Shahid continues to drop some elbows and punches to the body. Big left elbow from Shahid and he's overwhelming Mayura on the ground. Big leg kick from Shahid and then another. He's mixing up leg kicks and body kicks and Mayura is very stationary. Mayura explodes forward looking for the knockout but Shahid fires back and backs him off. Shahid lands a big right hand. Both men begin firing widly and Shahid gets clipped. Mayura is chasing him down trying to knock him out and Shahid is on rubbery legs but Mayura is exhausted. Both men are trading crazy wild looping strikes and we've got a minute left. Lakwinder Sekhon vs. Madura Rathnayake

Round one: Huge punch early from Sekhon and he takes Madura down. Sekhon is in half guard and he drops some punches. Sekhon passes to mount and he drops some huge punches. They keep cutting to the crowd to show India celebrities and it's really pissing me off. I missed a good 10-15 seconds of Sekhon in full mount. They cut back to the fight just in time to see Sekhon pound on Madura and force a stoppage with blows from full mount.

Final Result: Lakwinder Sekhon defeats Madura Rathnayake via TKO at 1:29 of round 1

Satish Jha vs. Jimmy Ambriz

Round one: Ambriz comes out slugging and Jha is getting overwhelmed. Ambriz is swinging heavily and he clips Jha along the fence. Jha goes down and after some strikes on the canvas and the ref steps in.

Final Result: Jimmy Ambriz defeats Satish Jha via TKO at 0:14 of round one

Xavier Foupa-Pokam vs. Joey Guel

Round one: Guel scores a takedown early and he's in Professor X's half guard looking to pass and drop some punches. Foupa-Pokam grabs an underhook and works his way back to his feet with the help of the fence. They begin trading blows and Foupa-Pokam is finally starting to get comfortable, landing some nice punches and kicks. Foupa-Pokam blasts Guel with a brutal kick to the body and he's hurt. Guel is in pure defense mode trying to recover from that body blow and he seems to have done it. Foupa-Pokam again presses the action and he lands some serious strikes and now Guel is cut. This cut is nasty right in the center of his forehead and he's bleeding all over the place. Referee Herb Dean halts the action but Guel's vision is not hindered so they continue and the crowd goes wild. Foupa-Pokam presses the action, landing big shots for the final minute of the first round and the Herb Dean stops the fight between rounds due to the cut.

Final Result: Xavier Foupa-Pokam def. Joey Guel via TKO (cut) at 5:00 of round one
