Looks like Ed Soares isn't the only one getting the boot as of late, as a change in personnel recently went down at the Rua headquarters.
"I would like to tell that I no longer work with Eduardo Alonso, we still friends, as usually.'
Mauricio Rua today (Feb. 7, 2012) took to his official Twitter account to announce his split from longtime manager and interpreter Eduardo Alonso. Alonso has been instrumental in "Shogun's" contract negotiations with the UFC and is often seen in his corner during fights.
Eduardo also served as the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight's interpreter during interviews and he also operates as manager to UFC Middleweight Demian Maia.
No word on the reasoning behind the change or who will now serve as the former UFC 205-pound champion's manager, but with Rua's remarks that they still remain friends, the move, was apparently amicable.
Something going on in Brazil that we don't know about?
