"I'm so excited. Like, as soon as they told me, I was coyote hunting, I couldn't even coyote hunt and I love hunting. I was so excited I was like, 'Hey guys, I gotta go home.' I started watching film, doing stuff for that. Man, I just can't wait. I thought I was excited for Jon Fitch but actually it's this fight that I'm really excited for. ... I believe I'm better than him everywhere the fight goes. Actually I just can't wait to hit him, put this left hand on him and see what happens."

-- UFC welterweight Johny Hendricks has slowly risen up the ranks in a fairly stacked division, having seven of his eight fights since coming over from the WEC back in 2009. That's an impressive resume, of course, but his crowning moment came this past Dec. 30, 2011, in Las Vegas at UFC 141 when he knocked out Jon Fitch in just 12 seconds. A brief campaign for a title shot ended when Carlos Condit announced his intentions to wait for Georges St. Pierre and that opened the way for Hendricks to accept a bout against Fitch's teammate, Josh Koscheck, at UFC on Fox 3 on May 5, 2012, in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Assuming he's able to unleash that monster left hand like he's so looking forward to doing, and it lands and does the same damage it did on Fitch, we could be seeing the next 170-pound title challenger. Anyone look at Hendricks and see a champion in waiting?
